I wake screaming. I get out of bed quickly. I'm hyperventilating. The new environment is too much after the dream I just had.

I have to get back into my routine.

I pull on some black jeans and a red t-shirt.

I walk to the kitchen.

I make myself a sandwich.

I try to convince myself that everything is normal.

I'm still eating when Dazai storms in.

"Are you ready to go?" He asks.

"No." I say around a mouthful of halloumi.

"Well hurry up!" He says.

"Why are you so worried?" I say as I swallow the last of my sandwich. "Did you know this Chuuya person?" I ask, when he doesn't answer.

"I do. We've worked together a few times." He says. He takes a seat across from me at the table.

The look on his face suggests probably more than just that he's worried about his colleague.

"Well, you can calm down. We'll get him back. I promise." I say. I put my hand on his arm. He glares up at me.

Not a fan of physical contact. Noted.

I move my hand away.

"Did you already eat breakfast?" I ask him as I take my dish to the sink.

"I didn't." I make him a sandwich with the last of the halloumi. I set it down in front of him.

"Eat." I say. He eats it, albeit grudgingly.

"Why are you being so nice to me? I literally kidnapped you just last night." He says.

"Because. If we want to get your friend back, we are going to have to work together. And I don't like fighting with people." I say.

"What's your name, by the way?"

"Dazai Osamu." He says. "You?"

"Angela carter." I reply.

"What does your special ability do?" He asks me.

I was expecting that, but I take a moment to respond anyway.

"Let's hope we don't have to find out." I say quietly.

He raises an eyebrow at that.

"What about you?" I ask.

"No Longer Human. It is a nullification ability. It prevents people from using their ability if I am touching them." He says like he has explained this a million times.

At least I won't hurt him if I use my ability. At the very least.

"That must come in handy when you're fighting gifted." I say.

"Not as much as you might think." He says.

"Is Chuuya gifted?" I ask, trying to divert the subject away from my ability.

"Yeah. He can manipulate gravity. And yet the dumbass still manages to get himself captured!" He says, exasperated.

"Do you know how the sheep managed to get to him?" I ask.

"They probably tricked him into trusting them. He used to be one of them and I think he still cares about them. Even though they tried to kill him."

He pauses.

"Multiple times." He adds.

"They could have drugged him." He continues. "It would make sense. They drugged his drink and then got the drop on him. That's how I would have done it."
