Chapter One: Deafening Silence.

It was quiet. All too quiet for their liking. The bus was paused and resting for the night while the driver had snuck off to find a nice hidey-hole to stay for the night, the band-mates all sat there silently, not quite doing anything. The guitarists were sound asleep, the percussionists (minus-Joey) were talking together, Sid and Paul were eating dry cereal while Corey paced around the front of the bus as if he was thinking very hard about something that seemed to cause him grief.
"No, no not that. No, not that... maybe... oh no, not that either," he kept whispering to himself, it began to bug Joey who was just sitting there silently, leaning his head on the glass window and staring out at the dark night sky ahead of them. They were still, it felt like the world was moving without them as they listened to the sounds of the bus - the soft blink whenever a fuse would suddenly pop out of no where or the sound of someone letting out a cough.

A loud bang interrupted their thoughts. They were startled, looking around for the cause of it - Mick and James/Jim woke up and looked around in utter confusion, "What the fuck was that?" Mick barked in his usual deep grunt, "I don't know... I think someone or something hit the bus," Paul said before shoving more sweet-cereal pieces into his mouth.
The boys sat together before James spoke up, "I'll check - and you two," He spotted Sid and Paul, "Stop eating that... you fucking weirdoes," He frowned before opening the bus door and walking out, to his surprise, he didn't see anything at first. He walked all the way around the bus, before crouching down to look under it. His heart nearly went out his mouth as he saw two little shiny eyes staring back at him. They were blue, crystal blue and looking at him with a combination of fear and worry.
"What are you doing down there?" He hummed, mostly to himself before shaking his head as he looked down at the strange person.
They looked less then twenty, possibly mid-teens, he looked into their eyes and then noticed a small blood trail from behind the wheel. Startled, he looked back at them. "Hey, you're not bleeding, are you?" He asked, almost skeptically.

The girl looked at him, before shaking to get further under the bus as if she was scared.
"Don't go under there - what if there's a leak?" He snapped - but not harshly, rather scolding her in a worried tone, he sighed softly and laid on his side.
"Look, I know we look scary, wearing masks and jumpsuits, looking straight out of a mental asylum... but you can't stay down there," He told her, "Come on, I'll get you some bandages and a blanket if you come in the bus," He sighed softly, hoping to coax her in.

She crawled out and came over to him, giving him a small subtle pout, she was small, had long brown hair and had the shiniest blue eyes he'd ever seen. He looked at her curiously, she had large cuts down her arms so his attention was snapped back to that, "Shit - come on," He said, helping her up and taking her to the bus, he opened the door with his hand and climbed in, "Boys, we got a problem," He said, waving the girl in who nervously climbed up the steps.

Curiously, Joey leaned forward to have a look, seeing how she was bleeding and how small and young she looked. He looked at her in bewilderment, completely confused as to why she was here, but concerned about the blood trailing down her arms.

She was shy, barely said a thing, she'd just squeak or point at things.

When James took her to a seat, he began cleaning at her arms while she sat there quietly the whole time before jumping slightly as she felt a hand on her head - it was Mick, who ruffled her hair, "What you doing that shit for, girl?" He asked - almost intimidating the way his low voice showed no emotion, but he was worried alright, kids get to that big guy.
"...Mm, f-feel..." She whispered and looked at James, "D-Do I need stitches?" She murmured, he looked up at her before looking at her wounds, "Only one does - the rest are fine... We'll get you to a hospital tomorrow, baby-doll," He said, patting her head before bandaging her arms up.

"Thank you for helping me... Mr. Root," She whispered, "You don't gotta be formal, call me James, or Jim - everyone calls me Jim," He smiled, glancing over at Sid, "You - keep the kid happy," He said and got up, "What are you doing?" Sid asked, "Going to take a leak outside," James said as he walked off the bus steps, the bus wobbling slightly from the added and taken weight-change.

"You wanna play card-games with us?" Sid asked, she looked at them nervously, they looked at her through their masks, so she slowly gave a nod.
"Good, sit down next to big guy here, he'll keep ya warm," Sid said - patting Mick's shoulder, she sat beside him on the chair and they all spoke together while Sid dealt the cards.
They explained the game to her and overtime, they watched a small smile begin to grow upon her face.

"What?! No fucking way - she cheated," Corey said, throwing his cards down as he lost against her.
"Hah - loser," She smiled, sticking her tongue out at him as he rolled his eyes and gently shoved her.
"Yeah yeah, fuck you, kid," He said, though he smirked under his mask.
