𝐑 𝐄 𝐈 𝐍 𝐀𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗡 𝗜𝗦 obnoxiously bright today. Like my skin needs any more help looking flawless.
I slipped into my usual seat, sliding my sunglasses off and tossing them onto the desk. The hangover hadn't been nearly as bad as I thought it'd be, just a dull ache at the back of my head, easily drowned out by the caffeine kicking in. I smirked to myself, recalling the night before.
Last night was a blur of Reign's brooding dilemma and some random guy's sloppy lips, but the fog had already lifted, and I was back in control.
I mean as far as I was concerned, the alcohol was a convenient excuse.
But Reign clearly had no idea who he was messing with. And today, I was more than ready to remind him. Ain't you the one messing with him?
As I was getting comfortable... Actually, I barely had a moment to get comfortable when I heard it-the sharp, clipped sound of heels clicking furiously down the hallway. I didn't need to look up to know who it was.
"I smell drama," Marissa leaned in closer, her curiosity piqued as she glanced toward the door. Marissa and Bianca had, of course, caught wind of what happened yesterday and practically begged me to spill every detail about Reign and me.
"I know." I sighed, waiting for the storm.
And as expected, she burst into the classroom, her face flushed with anger, eyes darting around until they landed on me. I immediately looked away, acting like she wasn't here.
"Reina!" she practically shrieked, her voice cutting through the buzz of morning chatter like a knife. Every head in the room snapped in our direction, curious eyes locked onto the unfolding drama. I could already hear the whispers starting, people leaning in to catch every word.
Bianca exchanged a glance with Marissa, both of them suppressing smiles as I barely glanced up, tilting my head and casually picking at my ear, like I was trying to scrape her shrill voice out of my head.
"Reina!" she shrieked again, her voice cranking up a notch, as if decibels would somehow earn my attention. I simply smirked, nonchalantly pulling my finger from my ear and inspecting it, as if checking for any signs of damage from her pathetic attempts.
"What the fuck is she screaming for?" Marissa asked, aside me. Exactly my thoughts.
Finally, I glanced up, my expression utterly indifferent, as if I'd just woken from a blissful nap. My smirk shifted into a forced smile when I met her gaze, "Oh, it's you," I said, my voice casual, almost bored. "With all that screeching, thought the bell was going off. What's up?"
She stormed over as I watched her approach, not even bothering to sit up straight. This is going to be entertaining.
She slammed her hands down on the desk in front of me, her manicured nails digging into the wood, "WHAT'S UP??? SOME NERVES YOU FUCKING HAVE. OHHH, I AM GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT IS FUCKING UP!! YOU BITCH!!! HOW FUCKING DARE YOU??? WHO TF DO YOU THINK YOU ARE??? HUH?"
She was screeching so loudly at this moment that I frowned.
I fully glanced up, my arms crossed over my chest, "About done?" I asked, leaning back in my chair with a nonchalance that made the onlookers hold their breath. "Cause if you're trying to make a point, all I'm hearing is the deafening silence of nobody caring."
Bianca let out a quiet laugh, covering her mouth as she tried to stifle it. Sia shot her a glare, but Bianca just shrugged, a smirk playing on her lips, unfazed. I couldn't help but snort.
