wren's pov:

ON my way down to breakfast the following morning, I only had one thing on my mind — coffee.

"I need coffee right now or I'll pass out," I stated as I slouched down opposite of Hermione and Ginny at the Gryffindor table. The first day of a new semester always seemed to be the hardest day to get through, don't ask me why.

With a little smile, Hermione handed me the coffee. "Sure, you do," she said, knowing of my love for coffee.

"So, are you coming to Quidditch tryouts today?" Ginny exclaimed, clearly much more excited than the two girls surrounding her.

"I'll come, but only to cheer you on, Gin," I smiled, "You know me and my balance."

Hermione and Ginny snickered softly at my words, earning a little glare from me. I'd actually attempted Quidditch before and therefore I knew that it wasn't for me. At all. It took me approximately two minutes to fall off my broom and break my arm.

"I'll come too to cheer you on, Ginny," Hermione added, taking a bite of her toast. "Which class do you have first?"

I went into my bag and pulled out a lesson spreadsheet we'd received the day prior. Scanning the old-looking parchment, I let out slight a groan. "Ugh, I have Potions, first period. You?"

Hermione, being the well prepared girl she was, already knew what she was having. She didn't hesitate to say: "Care of Magical Creatures."

Ginny reached into her bag before pulling out a crumbled up piece of paper. She lied it on the table and proceeded to straighten it out with her hands so it was readable, at least. "Umm, I have Defence Against the Dark Arts," she told.

"Lucky," I said as I sipped my coffee. Defence Against the Dark Arts had always been one of my favourite lessons. Especially in year three, when we had Remus Lupin teaching us. I couldn't really pin point what it was he did that made the subject so much more fun, but he did. Sadly, he'd quit, due to him being a werewolf coming to light.

I entered the Potions classroom with my books held close to my chest. The familiar coldness of the dungeons met me as a swept breeze across my face. I observed the classroom, and noted that I was one of the first ones there. Therefore I took the chance to sit right in the back, where Snape couldn't see or call me out for anything.

Seconds later, the Slytherin group walked in huddled together. When I said the Slytherin group, I meant Mattheo Riddle, Theodore Nott, Blaise Zabini, Draco Malfoy, Lorenzo Berkshire, and Pansy Parkinson. Sparing them only a small glance, I returned my attention to my books.
