Percy's POV
I was just walking along the beach with Annabeth when a portal came out of nowhere and pulled us in.
I should probably explain what we were doing before that. See, Annabeth and I have been dating for two years now, and I wanted to do something special for her, but I had no idea what to do, considering that I had already asked Hermes to take us to Paris after retrieving his caduceus (long story). Anyway, like I said, I had no idea what to do at this point.
Annabeth's curly blond hair tumbled down her back and swayed gently in the breeze, reminding me of wheat stalks in a light summer wind. She was wearing a Camp Half-Blood T-shirt, a pair of blue jean shorts, and a pair of black and gray slides.
"Do you have any ideas, Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth asked.
"Uh, about what?" I stammered. "Oh. Right. The thing is... I have no idea what we're going to do this time. Sorry about that."
Annabeth chuckled. "Well, maybe we could find something to do. Like going to a cafe, or go hang out at Camp Jupiter or something."
Before I could respond, a large, colorful portal appeared out of nowhere. "What in Tartarus is going on?" I demanded. I reached for my pocket to grab my trusty ballpoint pen/sword, Riptide, but before I could, the portal sucked us inside and closed behind us.

"Gods of Olympus, what happened?" I groaned as I sat up. Looking around, I noticed we weren't standing at the beach, where we'd been roughly a minute ago. Not only that, but everything about me felt...weird. I looked at my hands --- which weren't hands anymore, but webbed dragon talons.
"What the-" I jumped backward, then looked at my reflection in a nearby river. Instead of seeing my normal reflection, I saw a sea-green dragon with lighter green scales on the snout, wings, tail, and underbelly. What the Hades was going on?!
I glanced around again, then spotted a dragon with scales the color of desert sand, dark eyes, and a tail that had a scorpion-like barb at the end of it. I walked over to her and tapped her shoulder. The dragon looked up and snarled, then crouched in a defensive position. "Who are you?" she growled. "Did you bring me here? What is this place?"
I blinked. "Annabeth? Is that you?"
"Percy?" She stood up and shook her wings. "Why are you a dragon? What's going on?"
"I don't know, Wise Girl," I said honestly. "Maybe we should look for someone and ask where we are."
"I like that idea," Annabeth said, tilting her head. "Oddly enough, I found a piece of paper that said my name was Owl of the SandWings. It said your name was Trident of the SeaWings, too."
"Huh. I guess we'll have to deal with how to get home later." I stretched my neck and looked around again. This time, I saw a mountain in the distance, not too far away from where we were standing. "Maybe we should go there. I have some sort of feeling we're supposed to find someone there."
"Let's go then," Owl said. She spread her wings and shot into the sky. I followed her example and, together, we flew toward the mountain.
