COMING OUT IS HARD!

Chapter 7

Ariel is writing in her journal (for the 20th time that week, I'm not exaggerating) when a shout just came out of nowhere,

"ARIEL! WANNA GO FOR A WALK!"

The sudden shout shocked Ariel but then she quickly realized that it was Joanne, Ariel rushed downstairs,

"I could hear it too, off you go" Her mum throws her jacket for her to catch, which she does catch, she slides on her sneakers, opens the door and rushes outside. Joanne waits outside for Ariel, when she catches up to Joanne they both start their walk.

*Later*

Joanne and Ariel are walking down the street, Ariel shouts mid-conversation,

"ARGH! I DID IT! I talked to her again, and it felt so good! ARGH!"

Joanne looks up in shock, she is clearly excited and skipping merrily around her. She grabs a hold of Ariel's hands and spins around in circles dragging Ariel with her.

"OMG! That's so exciting! EEEE!" Yells Joanne

Almost blasting Ariel's ears off, they both keep on skipping around in circles,

PING!

It was Ariel's phone; she opened it up just to check. It was her mum:

MUM! 🤟

"Hey, Darling! Sorry to bother you and Joanne but you need to come back for dinner, you too Joanne your mum has been calling for you, love you, be safe! ❤️❤️❤️"

Ariel looks up to Joanne and recalls the message,

"We need to go back home, and your mum has been looking for you, she texted"

Joanne rolls her eyes and looks back at Ariel's phone

"I thought I told my mum I was going to walk down the road with you... eh." Joanne recalls from her morning but then shrugs.

Ariel starts to talk to her mum again

"HEY MUM! Thanks for the notice! Joanne and I'll be there in a second (Not really maybe in 5 minutes?) LOVE YOU! ❤️❤️❤️"

Ariel looks up from her phone to Joanne and says

"We should head back it is getting dark"

PING!

"Love you two! See you soon hun!"

Thanks, mum

Ariel thinks to herself

*After the walk back home*

"See you, Joanne! Have a good night!" She calls and waves

Joanne waves too and walks back into her house, Ariel opens the door of her home slips off her shoes and slides into her slippers. She walks into the dining room and gets a waft of welcome by the smell of...

"ENCHILADAS!"

Her mum grins and her dad peaks up behind her mum,

"We thought we would celebrate Peter's birthday today... Just for you" He looks at her with a whole plate of enchiladas and smiles lightly, her mum pitches in

"So... we thought we would make his favourite food! ENCHILADAS!"

Ariel started to tear up, she ran up to her mum and dad and hugged them tight crying into her dad's sleeve. Her dad cuts the silence reminding her,

"We also thought that we should remember him since we're doing the spring clean day soon," Her dad loosens the hug so he can see her daughter, looks at her and continues "We're going to be setting up tomorrow for spring clean day, so we're going to be waking up early tomorrow as well."

He tightens the hug up again and Ariel whispers

"I love you two!"

"We love you too."
