Back at home, the dark persisted outside. Our write enjoyed sitting at different windows in the house, drinking in the dark energy. Truly it was like nourishment.

He could have lamented that his writing wasn't paying or that the writers' club offered nothing in the form of membership for him. It's not that he wasn't allowed. There just wasn't a membership plan for him. They all catered to writers far more ambitious than him.

Becoming a lucrative writer wasn't an ambition. He felt wrong in a place full of ambitious people. Yet in the waiting room, being the contributor that he was to the writing community, was okay.

Back at home, our proprietor wished that the air always was this dark. It usually was. Light simply wasn't required in this community.

It was a quiet community, and the lucrative writers made it such that a lot of cats would roam nearby, listless and vagrant. They didn't come for food. Perhaps they came to avoid the light as well, and with not a shadow to trace their steps, watching their movements.

Who knows how it got this way, and how long it would remain this way. As a proprietor, one could feel encouraged that it lent itself to lucrative business undertakings, and moreover these writers were like scientists and not like artists as they worked. Nothing of the wanderer or the traveler, no art but science. These people sent their roots into this community, yet looking around, you wouldn't see them there.

Our proprietor wanted to be seen at times, especially when in transportation. When being transported, he felt at odds and a need to interact. There wasn't much public about this community, not much of a public life there. Still, it was good to be seen when you were lucrative.

The proprietor thought more about transportation, a domain he was uniquely acquainted with due to some other lucrative opportunity that had passed him by. Transportation was alive, people wanted new ideas and new ways to transport, like they wanted to cartwheel to work everyday. Or float in a bubble. Or on a leaf. This was a defining feature of this community.
