I'm Lottie Havens, Lottie, or Tee

I'm Lottie Havens, Lottie, or Tee. That's my nickname that some people call me. But I think 'Lottie' is already a short name. I'm not complaining, though. But it's kind of weird to pronounce. I'm sixteen.

I'm the only daughter out of my family. I have five older brothers and Eli is the oldest of us because he's in his late 20s. But with his appearance, let's say that he'll be forever young. He's twenty-nine.

Adam and Ace are twins, but Adam was the first to come out of muma's belly before Ace did for about seven minutes. Sometimes, I forget who's this and them because they look too identical, but it's how it works. They're both twenty-seven

Next is Leo. He's nineteen and he gets a lot of girls because of his charming and flirty personality, though behind closed doors, he's the opposite. He's always rude to me for no reason and sometimes goes overboard to his pranks.

And Ian, he's seventeen, the youngest at the boys. Him and Leo would always work together to make pointless shenanigans and corner me almost every single day. I don't know why they do this to me. I haven't done anything wrong to disturb those two.

They always pranked me until it became a daily routine, like one time, I almost ate a sandwich with a literal dog poop.

They would wake me up by splashing water on my face, which is actually a common thing to do. But it gets annoying when it becomes a habit. I've never done that to one of my brothers before.

There's this kind of aura where I'd feel intimidated, and then I wouldn't do a dumb thing that I'll do to them anymore because of their presence.

Eli doesn't really care and he's always busy with his work. Once, I tried talking to him but he dismissed me with harsh words that I didn't expect. He looked nice. What?? It's been six years, yet I still remember it. The way he spoke to me was cold, and I felt scared.

Or maybe I was just sensitive that time.

Adam and Ace.. well, they're both troublemakers and they would always bring women back home. I don't know the reason and I don't want to interfere by asking them questions. They wouldn't care, just like Eli.

Even when I have a messy relationship with my brothers, that wouldn't affect my family relationship with my papa. He's the polar opposite of them and papa's very sweet.

His name is Luke and he's the sweetest father I have ever met! He was the one who raised me when I was still a baby, and after muma's death. It's really hard to raise six children at the same time without another parent helping. I can't believe papa had done that by himself. I can't help but to feel sad for him because he was all alone at that time.

Papa's already fifty-five. I remember he was fifty years old, years ago, which is surprising that time flies quickly.

I was done daydreaming when someone screamed at me. It was Ace. My legs pushed me up and walked towards him. "Yes?"

"You're doing the dishes," His voice echoed with a harsh tone. But I've already done dishes this week. I don't have the guts to say that, though. He's older than me so I should respect him.

"Okay," My word came out as a mumble before walking in the kitchen. My jaw almost dropped when I saw a fountain of dirty plates, utensils, and cups that were stacked on the sink.

Everyday, it just gets worse.

Reluctantly, I decided to do the dishes anyway. I can't have Ace screaming at my face again.

Twenty minutes have already passed and by now, I was putting the clean dishes in their drawers. I didn't notice the footsteps behind.

"You're cleaning the dishes again?" I heard my papa complain and I turned around. He's back home! His hair was a little disheveled from work, but he still looked nice.

He's a college professor, so it depends on what time he comes home. He usually goes overtime in uni papa's working at.

I heard him sigh before putting his bag at the table counter. He sat me down at a nearby chair. "I know how much you love helping us out with chores, but you don't have to do that everyday. You can ask Leo or Ian to wash dishes some time."

I only nodded my head. It wasn't my choice. Ace wanted me to do it myself. It's a little risky, but I want to tell him that it wasn't me who decided to do chores. I've been doing the same routine the whole week. Dishes, cleaning the floor, gardening or whatever things to do in this house.

"It wasn't me," I blurted out. Oh. "Ace told me to do the dishes. I didn't ask him because he might get mad."

Papa furrowed his eyebrows. "Sorry, what? I already made a schedule about you and your brothers taking turns when it comes to chores everyday. Didn't I tell him about that already?"

"Please don't be angry," I tried to calm him down, but I already know that he's gonna have a talk with Ace. As much as he wants to scold him, I don't want that to happen. He's my older brother and I love him. "I can handle doing chores any time."

"Okay. And you'll let them sit on their butts everyday while you're the one who's working?" I winced at what papa said. He's got a point, but I don't really mind.. And I don't want another angry faces looking at me. I don't want to feel my brothers' wrath.

His arms wrapped around to hug me. "I do want you to keep secrets from me. I'm your father, and you're my daughter. I don't want you to feel left out. I want to understand how you're feeling. And, I want you to feel safe around me, okay?" His hand gently cupped my cheek before kissing my temple.

I suddenly feel guilty. He's right. I shouldn't be keeping secrets from my own father. But at the same time, I feel scared because my brothers are always watching. If I even tell a single thing that my brothers do to me, they'll knock me out.

I let out a sigh of relief and hugged him. "Okay papa. I'm glad to have you as my father," He let out a chuckle before hugging me back too.

"Thanks, kiddo. I love you. Now go to your room. I'll talk to Ace about it," His words were firm but gentle as he led me out of the kitchen.

I was walking upstairs when I saw Ian standing, glaring towards me. "Um, yes?" I called.

"Heard what you said," Ian's voice was sharp and I stepped back. But, he was already walking to me. "You're dead," He gave me a hiss while walking away.

I was already shaking inside at this point. I was scared because they might do something unpredictable after the talk.
