After I sent Detective Alexander to his room I left right away and started heading to my next destination, my study room. Before I could open the door to my study room footsteps were echoing in the corridor heading towards me while shouting and calling my attention.
"Sir Haine! wait for me!" I turned my head around to see who it was. It was my Secretary Adam. Once he caught up to me he bent his knees and held on to it with his hands to rest and carry his weight for a bit while panting heavily. trying to catch his breath i waited for a bit. "I got the information you wanted me to obtain sorry it took a long time hehe..." he pulled out an envelope inside his backpack while wiping his sweat off with a piece of handkerchief. I took the envelope off of his hands and grabbed a couple of keys inside of my pocket.
And inserted one of the keys inside the keyhole in the doorknob. Twisted the key and heard a click sound coming from the doorknob. Opening the door I headed to my seat and placed the envelope on top of the table. My Secretary on the other side of the door is still not entering. I narrowed my eyes to figure out why he was still standing over there. I gave out a big sigh while lowering my head and put one of my hands on my hips while the other hand was between the corners of my eyes and squeezing the bridge of my nose. Indicating that I was clearly annoyed by his actions, he was sweating and avoiding my gaze.
"What is it this time? Did another problem arise or... is it something else that I should be worried about?" I looked at him so intensely that he was hesitating to answer my question. He was looking at his feet and fidgeting with his hands. He was perhaps thinking if he was gonna tell it to me or not. I sighed once more. "Whatever it is, come here inside first standing there will do you no good come take a seat here." He nodded, took a step and closed the door behind him. I took a seat. What might this thing he is worried about?
"We discovered another body.. inside the mansion while I was visiting your father... They said that it was an accident and that I should pay no mind to it. Sir, we should carry on with the investigation soon!" Clenching his fist with a determined face he looked at my eyes with a fierce gaze. He must be scared and worried. I should do something to calm him down. "I know I know but don't worry, the plan is going smoothly... Why don't you go home now? you must be exhausted from that visit i'll handle the rest.. Thanks for your hard work."
He nodded and headed to the exit without uttering another word he left. Replaying my conversations with the detective in my head I began to plan what to do with him next... I should really focus on the problem at hand though. This envelope with all the information we need to do for tomorrow with the detective... As I think about what will happen tomorrow my heart begins to beat faster and loudly. This wasn't such a bad idea after all... Hope things will get better from now on...
It was morning already. I woke up at the sound of footsteps in the room while I was lying defenseless in my half asleep state. I tried to take a peek, narrowing my eyes from the brightness. I lifted my hands to cover the brightness that was blinding my eyes. There I saw him. It was the CEO. My eyes slowly adjusted to the brightness so I slowly sat and rubbed my eyes with both of my hands while yawning.
He took a seat next to me. He was wearing a clean neat suit with his hair done.
"Did you get a good night's sleep? I hope you did because we will have a long day ahead of us." With my blurred vision I looked at him confused and I could tell that he was distracted by my bed hair. Is it bothering him? "Sir, is something the matter with my hair?" He flinched and looked away with his ears turning red.
"Ahem! Put these on, let us not delay our work any further." He handed me a set of outfits. It was a suit. And... I took the suit from his hand and examined it. It felt expensive, tailored perfectly, and surprisingly my size. "How did you know my size?" I raised an eyebrow, still groggy from sleep. He smirked but didn't answer, just gestured for me to get dressed. I sighed and stood up, stretching my limbs. As I walked to the bathroom to freshen up, I noticed the room was monitored with cameras in the corner, hinting that my privacy was compromised. I wondered if he had been watching me sleep. The thought sent a shiver down my spine, but I quickly shrugged it off.
