Chapter 10

Brendon left to go back to California, as he needed to finish packing for tour. Dylan and Brendon booked a night in a hotel in New York, when they met up with Fall Out Boy. The couple took full advantage of having some privacy. Dylan was going to be without her boyfriends touch for 6 months, so they made love all night long. The sun had risen before they fell asleep.
Dylan returned to Philadelphia and was sitting thinking about the night she had just spent with Brendon when somebody knocked at the door. She got up to answer, and it was Larry. Dylan was puzzled because Larry knew that Carol was at work today.
"Larry?" Dylan questioned.
"Hello, Dylan. Can I come in?" He smiled at her. Dylan stepped back to let Larry in.
"Mom's at work." Dylan said, following Larry into the lounge.
"Oh, I know. It's you that I have come to see." Larry sat down.
"Oh?" Dylan said, an eyebrow raised. She sat on a chair, close to the door.
"Yes. Your mother told me what happened to you with your ex. I was thinking that maybe it wasn't as bad as it was made out to be."
"Let me see. Which part do you think isn't that bad?" Dylan asked.
"Well, erm...."
"He beat me up until I was unconscious, raped me whilst I was unconscious. I had to have major surgeries, and I am still undergoing therapy for my PTSD. So which part, Larry?" Larry looked taken aback.
"W-w-w-" He started and was cut off again.
"Not to mention the coma I was put into to help my body heal. All the worry HE caused my family, plus his parents. Do you know they still blame themselves for his actions? They feel so much guilt, no matter how many times I reassure them. Sophie feels like she's failed as a mother, where Owens is concerned. " Larry exhaled loudly.
"Dylan, I am so sorry that all happened to you. He made it out to be that you barely suffered and that you were on some sort of revenge path."
"What do you mean?"he made it all out?" Have you spoken to Owen?" Larry nodded his head.
"Owen wrote to me. He asked me to get into contact with you or your mom. He said that everything was a huge mistake. He said that you and him are meant to be and that you needed to be convinced to give Owen another chance." He explained.
Dylan sat back down for a moment.
'There is no end to this man's manipulation.' Dylan thought to herself. She ran a hand through her locks and sighed.
"How long ago did he write to you?" She asked.
"Huh?"
"How long ago did Owen write to you?" Dylan repeated.
"I think it was about the same time he wrote to you. Maybe a little while after. He said that it didn't look like you were going to visit, so he needed a plan. b. When the incident occurred at the psychiatric facility, he wrote to me again and asked me to intervene. He's family. How could I say no?"
"So this has all been an act to get closer to me?"
"No! I real -"
"What did you think you could do? How would you have convinced me to give Owen yet another chance?"
"I really like your mother. She's a wonderful woman. I wasn't expecting to fall for her. I love Nico, too.
I was going to ask you to visit Owen again. I hadn't factored Brendon into things. When I did, I didn't realise how serious it was between the 2 of you."
"You are going to have to tell Mom everything, you know." Dylan said. Larry glanced at her and agreed.
"I know. It's just the thought of losing her. I love her Dylan." Dylan rolled her eyes. At that moment, Nico arrived home from a friend's house.
"Hi,sis, hi Larry." He greeted them both. Straightaway, Nico could detect an atmosphere between Dylan and Larry. "What's going on?"
"Nothing, Nico." Larry said quickly.
"Larry is a con man. He has used Mom to get close to me. Owen sent him." Nicos jaw dropped open.
"I knew it! I knew there was something wrong. I knew that you were too good to be true." Nico said.
"Why?" Larry said to Dylan.
"What, Larry, did you think that I wouldn't say anything? He's my brother. He has a right to know who is coming into his home."
Suddenly, Larry had a complete turnaround and looked at Dylan.
"You fuckin bitch! I could've had a chance here! But no, you had to wreck things."
"I haven't wrecked anything. That was all your own doing." Dylan replied. Larry growled. He was about to attack Dylan when Nico knocked him to the floor. Dylan called 911 and asked for the police. Nico got up along with Larry.
"Who do you think you are to disrespect me like that? I am an adult!" Larry said to Nico.
"Act like one then." Nico quipped back. Larry drew his arm back as if he was about to strike Nico on the cheek. Carol walked in.
