it was any normal day at fox river until lauren got an unusual patient that stuck out to her for some reason "tattoo looks fresh,i guess being a diabetic you don't mind needles"lauren said seeing the tattoo sleeve on his arm "i'm michael by the way"he added softly with a warm,gentle smile "scofield i read your report"lauren replied whilst writing down his results "and you are"michael asked "dr.tancredi will do"lauren said with a soft glance "tancredi like the governor and isn't that her name"michael asked pointing to the lady outside the room whilst she stayed quiet "you aren't related are you?"michael asked but she still didn't say a word "wouldn't think you'd find the daughters of justice frank working in a prison,as a doctor no less"michael added before lauren looked at him.
"i believe in being part of the solution not the problem and my sisters only my assistant"lauren replied "be the change you want to see in the world"michael said which made lauren stare at him with his big blue eyes "what"he asked confused whilst she let out a smile "nothing that was just my senior quote"lauren said with a small chuckle before looking back down at her sheets "that was you? this whole time i was thinking it was gandhi"michael replied which made the girl chuckle "you're very funny"lauren said smiling "sit tight,put direct pressure on that i'll be back in a sec"lauren added before leaving the room.
"so how do we play this,you hook me up with a few weeks supply"michael asked whilst she walked back into the room "nice try,no hypos on the floor"lauren said whilst sitting down "i'm the farthest thing from a junkie trust me"michael replied with a soft smile "i got news for you michael, trust me means absolutely zero inside these walls the only way you're getting that insulin is if i'm administering it"lauren added closing her book "i guess we'll be seeing a lot of each other then"michael said with a huge smile "i guess so"lauren replied smiling back before getting up.

"two pounds of pot?"lisa said furious "ooo LJ's in trouble"emily interrupted with a giggle until her mom looked at her with a hard stare which made her carry on eating her cereal "what were you trying to do,set a record it's not funny LJ you could be going to jail and it's pretty obvious to me you need some guidance"lisa added before her husband walked in getting his breakfast "from who old daddy warbucks?"LJ asked once he'd left making emily laugh "give him a chance he's a good man,both of you"lisa replied softly "we've got nothing in common"emily added playing with her food.
"where's this coming from guys,LJ last semester you were getting almost all A's and now.......its your father isn't it"lisa asked "i don't have a father"LJ snapped back "it wasn't an immaculate conception,honey trust me maybe it's time we went in saw him"lisa said which made emily's face light up but LJ's fade "mom,ma,don't"LJ replied shaking his head "i'm about as excited by the prospect as you are but something's got to give"lisa whispered making sure emily wouldn't hear "you have got too much potential to be screwing up your life like this"lisa added before leaving.

the next day,the three went to fox river to visit their dad "daddy"emily said excited whilst he walked in "hi baby"he replied craving to hug her but a glass wall separating them "he was arrested"lisa added "for what"lincoln asked "possession of marijuana,i figured he could use some fatherly advice before it's"lisa replied softly "gone forever?"lincoln asked finishing her sentence "i didn't mean it like that"lisa added "i know you didn't thanks lisa"lincoln replied before she walked away letting the kids talk to their father.
"dope huh using or dealing?"lincoln asked LJ whilst emily coloured in her picture "what's the difference"LJ asked "then what? you think it gives you some kind of street cred, you got a piece of the good life take advantage"lincoln said shrugging "look i get it the whole thing she drags me in here,you give me a big speech i walk away a changed man,straight A's, harvard,grow up and be a dentist"LJ replied unbothered "it's better than being here"lincoln said scrunching his eyebrows.
"you got to realise who's getting punished you think it's me it's you, i did the same thing punished the old man cause he was gone look what it got me, i'm not asking you to love me i already screwed up that chance long ago i'm asking you to love yourself you can still put the brakes on this thing"lincoln added "so that's what fatherly advice is like"LJ said before standing up "where are you going"lincoln asked while LJ picked emily up "i've got homework"LJ replied "they're putting me to death LJ, in a months time i'll be dead you get that"lincoln added "you're already dead to me"LJ replied before walking with emily whilst she waved goodbye.

"you went to sarah"lauren said with a smile "you've been checking up on me"michael replied whilst she sat down opposite him "i like to get to know my patients i went to northwestern, graduated two years after you did"lauren added "maybe we met before you know drunk, out at a bar somewhere"michael said smiling "i would have remembered"lauren replied beginning to write stuff down "is that a compliment?"michael asked "no"lauren shook her head "your blood glucose is at 50 milligrams per deciliter"lauren added.
"so?"michael said confused "it's hypoglycaemic your body's reacting to the insulin like you're not a diabetic"lauren replied "you sure it's type one diabetes you got?"lauren asked "ever since i was a kid"michael replied "alright not experiencing tingling sensation,cold sweats"lauren asked whilst he shook his head "i'd like to run some tests next time your in last thing i want is to be administering insulin to a man who doesn't need it"lauren said standing up "yeah sure"michael replied softly.
