Alec watched as Magnus and Magnificent fell into a deep conversation about their capabilities as a warlock and a mage, as well as about the current timeline they were at. Magnus was answering the hundreds of questions Magnificent had about Magnus and Alec's own timeline. It was almost as if he was watching Magnus dealing with one of his own younger siblings. It was adorable, and Alec couldn't help but smile. That's when he noticed that Alexandra was observing Magnus and Magnificent with a soft smile on her face. Alexandra's eyes softened every time she watched Magnificent. Alec knew that longing look. There was a time when Magnus and Alec could all do was just watch each other with those longing eyes. Alec couldn't help but wonder what the story was behind those two ladies.

After the brief and intense introduction they all had earlier, it was fair to say Magnus and Alec had to find their way back home as soon as possible. To do that, they needed to find the exact reason as to how this timeline was connected to their own.

After a few more intense conversations, Magnus and Alec took the approach of sharing all their knowledge to see if there were any gaps or anything major that they were missing. In the meantime, Alec felt useless. All he could do was walk side by side with the one he now knew was the crown princess of this kingdom.

"I apologize for our behavior earlier." Alexandra began, speaking softly so that only Alec could hear.

"Oh, no. We wouldn't have been much different if we were in the same position." Alec attempted to reassure her. They seemed to share a certain understanding, a deep connection between two leaders.

"So, Magni... Magnus is your husband?" Alexandra looked at Alec for the first time as they began walking toward the Magnificent's mage tower.

"Yes, he is." Alec found himself smiling before he realized it.

"It's been five wonderful years," Alec continued.

"Are you... were you not afraid? Of losing everything? Disappointing everyone?"

"Terrified." Alec answered before he could stop and think.

Alec looked at Alexandra.

"So many things terrified me. First, we both are men. It's frowned upon in our time for two men to fall in love. Second, I could have lost all I'd worked for years. So, yeah. I was terrified."

Alexandra gulped on Alec's behalf.

"What made you less scared?" Alexandra asked Alec as she held her breath.

Alec smiled softly. Alexandra, surprisingly, reminded Alec of Izzy.

"Him. When he fought for us, I couldn't help but fall more in love with him with every step we took."

Magnus caught himself watching his Alexander and Alexandra in deep conversation. Alexandra was still in her combat suit, while Alec wore the lounge clothes he had worn that morning. They were very different versions of each other, yet they both projected beauty in their own ways. They both looked majestic and beautiful. Alexandra had one hand on her waist while the other held her spear. Alec was mirroring her, with one hand in his front pocket and the other hanging freely as he paid attention to Alexandra. They both were simply too much for Magnus's heart. Sue him for thinking that this might be one of his greatest wet dreams come true.

"They look..." Magnus turned to Magnificnet as she started talking.

"Like your wildest dreams have come to life?" Magnus finished the sentence.

"Yes." Magnificnet turned to Magnus with a grin on her face.
This might be the female version of Magnus, but she definitely was a Bane. Magnus couldn't help but grin back at her.

"I'm glad to see we aren't much different despite what timeline we are from." Magnificient smirked as she opened a huge book she had. The book easily aged about a century, but it was one of those books that didn't get opened unnecessarily. As the royal mage of the Kingdom, she was one of the very few who had access to the book.

"You'll be surprised. I've heard there is a very mellow version of us in a timeline." Magnus shivered as he remembered the plain Magnus Clary told him about.

"How is that even possible?" Magnificent had a similarly very disturbed face.

"Yeah... I try not to think about that Magnus much. Let's hope he is one of very few."

"He better be." Magnificent chuckled as she went through the contents.

"So what are we looking for?" Magnus looked over Magnificent's shoulder to see what she was looking at.

"This is the greatest book ever written in our kingdom for mages by mages. This book contains everything a mage should know."

"Oh... I have something similar. It's called the Book of the White."

"Weird name."

"I said the same thing." Magnus's reply made Magnificent chuckle. It was nice to talk to literally the male version of herself. He seemed to get her more than anyone ever had.

"So, are we looking up dimension traveling then?"

"Yes, I just need to know why you're here. And where can we find the vortex opening back to your world? Like I mentioned, we don't really mess with it."

"I understand, but fear not. There are two of us." Magnus smiled at the younger woman, and she smiled back brightly.

"So....." Magnus looked back at Alec and Alexandra.

"What's the deal?"

"Deal?" Magnificent looked confused.

"Different timelines, different terms. My bad." Magnus chuckled as he watched Magnificent's confused face.

"At least we understand each other's languages," Magnificent added.

"Magic works in very mysterious ways, dear." Magnus dragged his fingertips over an old book cover. It may have been a few hours, but he missed his own book collection.

"You and the princess, what's going on?" Magnus looked at Magnificent, who was now watching the princess and Alec.

"What?" Magnificent looked at Magnus so quickly that Magnus was worried that she may have sprained her neck.

"No... No, nothing. She... she is the crown princess, and I'm the royal mage." Magnificent, who seemed to have everything under control, was quickly losing control over a simple question.

"Yeah?" Magnus asked nonchalantly.

"Yeah." She cleared her throat and quickly looked at the book she had gotten.

"I'm sure I don't have to mention this, but she looks at you the same way you look at her." Magnus spoke as he observed his nails.

"Hmm... could use some more glitter." He said as he inspected his nails, almost as if he hadn't noticed Magnificent looking at him desperately for more information.

"What do you mean? She... she is about to be engaged to a man."

Magnus looked at Magnificent, unimpressed.

"And I crashed a wedding to stop my man from marrying a woman. Fashionably, in fact."

"But she is the princess. The future queen."

"And he is the son of Shadowhunter royalty."

"What?" Magnificent tilted her head slightly, confused about what Magnus was talking about.

"Aha! Just stop being stubborn and fight for her. What's stopping you anyway?"

Magnificent looked at Alexandra with longing eyes as she answered Magnus.

"She deserves the best in the world, and I'm afraid I won't be able to give her that."
