Mika stayed in the stolen escape pod until we reached Setrion and refused to speak to me. When I docked Nox in the castle hangars he swiftly left the pod and disappeared into the palace. I let him go and debriefed the incident at Murdock on my own.

The next day an impromptu council meeting was called because of the incident. The council were ruffled about the fact that Mika was able to be taken captive on an enemy ship in the middle of Egreyan territory.

"Murdock is the cornerstone of our Mech research and development. If they were able to infiltrate it without setting off alarms until a giant drill started up, how do we know there are no more biding their time to strike again?"

"Murdock is supposed to be the empire's best kept secret, only a select few should even know its coordinates daily."

"Yes, I find it very strange how the Captain of the Prince's Guard happened to be there at the same time, unannounced and he was not able to prevent the Prince's kidnapping."

"There's a difference between being kidnapped and preventing a kidnapping, Aemon. The incident at Murdock was the latter. Cassius Ramos was the target of the kidnapping attempt." The smooth easygoing voice that chimed in could both enchant and infuriate. All eyes turned to the entrance of the council chamber.

One could hear a pin drop in the silence that followed Mika's statement. From what I'd heard from Alanis, Mika had never bothered attending these meetings before, even when he was specifically summoned. Even councilor Aemon couldn't hide the shock from his face quickly enough before Mika was walking up the dais where the King sat with my father to his right and his most favored council member to his left. Mika walked to the left of the throne and gave councilor Hector one expectant look. The poor old man's eyes widened as he realized what Mika was implying. He looked at the King in astonishment but was met with no response as the King enthusiastically continued to play poker with my father.

"So the Prince has finally decided to grace his father's council with his presence. I was beginning to believe he was a myth." Aemon voiced to no-one in particular once he had recovered. A few other councilors and some generals hemmed and hawed in agreement.

Aemon's opinions went ignored by those on the dais. With an aggrieved expression, councilor Hector reluctantly vacated the seat and left the dais. An attendant came running from the edge of the room with a wooden stool for the old man which was awkwardly placed in the space between two other council members.

Meanwhile Mika had crashed down on the seat lazily, his legs draped over the arm rests and raked his eyes across the room with amused disdain. One hand leisurely supporting his head.

The room waited with bated breath for what he would say next. Surely he wouldn't attend a council meeting just to listen, he hardly had the patience for it. His iridescent eyes changed subtly as they swept over each face beneath the dais. When they got to me, the corners of his mouth drew up leaving me uneasy.

"It is time to conquer Dradora."

The silence continued for a few moments and then every council member tried to speak at once.

"Madness!"

"Should have known!"

"Remove him! Remove him and give me back my seat!" A red-faced Councilor Hector insisted childishly.
