Lost Souls

Jo was going after a demon in St. Louis, Missouri and had tracked it down to an alley way. She was following him down it and grabbed her demon knife that she had strapped to her leg in a leg holster and started walking slowly and carefully so he wouldn't notice her. Jo then began to get in a fighting stance then pounced on him when he was doing something on his cell phone. When she attempted to stab him he turned around and dropped his cell phone to the ground and punched her in the face and grabbed the knife from her and threw it across the alley way. Jo looked at the knife and began thinking how she can get it back and then he caught her off guard and pinned her against the wall and began choking her. Jo began kicking her legs and gasping for air while trying to think of how she could get out of this one and when she couldn't figure it out she realized how much trouble she got in to. Then Jo saw a knife being stabbed through his back and into his chest killing him. As soon as the demon let go of Jo she fell to the ground and began to gasp for air. Jo then looked up to see who had killed the demon and saw a tall girl with long and curly red hair, and dark red lips.

"Thanks" Jo said then got up from the ground and wiped her hands on her pants

"No problem it's my job" Anna replied then turned to leave

"Wait would you like to maybe become my partner? If you don't have one already that is" Jo said then began to shift her weight nervously while waiting for a reply.

Anna looked at Jo and decided that it wouldn't hurt if she at least tried to do one hunt with her and she hoped it would turn out good and Anna smiled at her "Yeah I think we would be okay, looks like you need backup"

"That was just a onetime thing my hunts don't usually end up like that"

Anna crossed her arms and smiled "Yeah we'll see about that"

"Yeah you will see" Jo smiled then they began walking out of the alley together side by side. Jo didn't know what to think about this girl but she knew already that she hoped the attraction was mutual.

"So I didn't catch your name back there" Anna said as they came to a stop at the end of the alley.

"Oh I forgot to introduce myself I'm Jo"

"I'm Anna so is Jo short for something?"Anan asked

"Yeah it's short for Joanna"

"Oh that's a pretty name "Anna said

"Thank you so you need a ride?"Jo asked

"Yeah I actually walked here from the motel my car broke down this morning"

Jo was happy that she got to spend a little more time with her even though she knew they would be spending a lot of time together as partners on hunts. They both started walking over to Jo's red ford explorer and got in.

"So just tell me the way" Jo said then looked over at Anna who was smiling then began to led her to the hotel she was staying at

Jo parked her car in the parking lot and they both got out. When they both got into the room Anna sat down on the bed then remembered she still had Jo's knife.

"Oh I almost forgot to give you your knife back" Anna said then got it out of her leg holster then walked over to Jo who was sitting at a table in front of the window.

"Oh I forgot about that too" Jo said then Anna handed her the knife and Jo began twirling it

"So do you have somewhere to stay?"Anna asked then Jo remembered that she didn't have the chance to get a room

"No I didn't have the chance to book a room" Jo replied

"Oh well you can stay here with me if you like?"

Jo took her focus of the knife "Yeah that would be great"
