The next day, Ishan met Shubman at the cozy campus café, "The Daily Grind." The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as they grabbed a corner table.

As they sipped their coffee, Ishan couldn't help but notice the way Shubman's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled.

"So, what's your favorite subject?" Shubman asked, leaning in.

"English literature," Ishan replied. "I love poetry."

Shubman's eyes lit up.

"Me too!" he exclaimed. "I've always been fascinated by the way words can evoke emotions."

Ishan's heart skipped a beat.

"Exactly!" he said. "It's like the poet is speaking directly to your soul."

Their conversation flowed effortlessly, delving deeper into their passions and interests. They discussed their favorite poets, from T.S. Eliot to Rupi Kaur.

As they talked, Ishan felt a sense of connection he hadn't experienced before. Shubman seemed to sense it too, his gaze lingering on Ishan's face.

"Ishan, can I ask you something?" Shubman said, his voice softer.

"Anything," Ishan replied.

"What's going on with you?" Shubman asked. "You seem... haunted sometimes."

Ishan's eyes dropped, his mind racing.

"Just dealing with some stuff," Ishan said.

Shubman's hand reached out, hesitated, then pulled back.

"I'm here for you, Ishan," Shubman said. "If you ever need someone to talk to."

Ishan's heart swelled.

"Thanks, Shubman," Ishan said. "That means a lot."

Their eyes met, and Ishan felt a spark of electricity. He quickly looked away, unsure what to make of the feeling.

As they parted ways, Ishan couldn't shake off the sense that Shubman saw him in a way no one else did.

Little did Ishan know, Shubman was struggling with his own emotions.

Shubman walked back to his dorm, his mind replaying the conversation.

He couldn't deny the connection he felt with Ishan.

But what did it mean?
