Part 1: Victory unleashed
In the bustling atmosphere of Stratford University's journalism club
"Welcome to Victory Voices, your go-to source for all things Stratford sports! I'm Natalie, and today we're diving into the electrifying aftermath of yesterday's match against Harmington College. With the dust barely settled, we'll hear from key players about the game, and trust me, you won't want to miss the insights from our very own number five, Ethan Carter. So, let's relive the action and celebrate our team's hard-fought victory!"
"What an incredible victory for Stratford! Our football team has truly outdone themselves this season!" She waved a microphone in front of Ethan, a player known for his cocky demeanor.
Ethan leaned back, a playful smirk on his face. "Oh, it feels fantastic! I mean, we completely outplayed them. They were practically begging us to score." His eyes sparkled with mischief. "But let's be honest—did anyone really think Harmington stood a chance? They were like a toddler trying to play with the big kids!"
The presenter chuckled, trying to maintain her professionalism. "That's a bold statement, Ethan! What do you think was the turning point in the game?"
"Honestly?" Ethan leaned in closer, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret.
"Their defense. Bless their hearts, but they couldn't keep up. It was like watching a snail race against a cheetah!" He laughed, the sound infectious.
"You know, I heard one of their players thought he was a star! Maybe next time he should just stick to being a fan."
His words were pointed, clearly aimed at riling up any viewers from the opposing team.
Meanwhile, in their dorm, the Harmington football team was glued to the screen, their expressions darkened as they watched the interview.
"Can you believe this guy?" Ryan, Grace's boyfriend, scoffed, shaking his head. "They're celebrating way too much. It's like they've never won before."
Liam, Zoe's boyfriend, shot back, "They have every right to celebrate. A win like that will only make us stronger and hungrier for the next match."
"Yeah?! Well I wish I broke his leg in the field Yesterday ! ; that motherfucker called me a snail mate !" Ryan said, frustrated.
James, realizing Ryan was too angry, "Chill, man. Let them have their win; we will have ours next time. 'Cheetahs' get tired too."
"Cheetah my ass! More like a lazy house cat trying to catch a laser pointer! That asshole looks like my grandma's cat, Mr. Whiskers!"
"He's clearly getting to you with his words, that's what he wants, Ryan. Take a deep breath and relax or turn that damn TV off. And for Lord's sake, leave that poor cat out of this!"
As the conversation heated up, Daniel, Elizabeth's fiancé, leaned back in his chair. "Can we just calm down? I'm trying to listen to the girls' competition," he said, annoyance creeping into his voice.
Ryan smirked. "Oh, come on, Danny! You must be thrilled that Elizabeth is on TV for the first time. You should probably get that ring ready, or everyone will be looking at her!"
"Shut up, Ryan," James interjected, trying to bring order to the chaos. "Focus up."
"Who are we watching?" Liam asked, curious.
