"So let me get this straight, that kid kept your story from almost twelve years ago?"
San-yeong nodded munching on her spicy chicken feet. Nara flashed an upside down smile before gulping down the bit of Soju left in her glass. San-yeong deadpanned and hit her head with a spring onion.
"Don't get any ideas, he's just a child." San-yeong reprimanded her friend. Nara rolled her eyes and opened another bottle of Soju. "Yeah sure. He's a 33 Year-old child. Since when did you become so dumb?"
San-yeong layed back down on the wooden porch. The stars looked exceptionally pretty tonight. The little dots in the sky twinkling like diamonds, a navy blue hue spread around the stars even if the rest of the sky was pitch black.
"Oh stars why do you shine so bright tonight?
Have you come to greet me after a tiring time?" San-yeong waved her hand in air lazily as if trying to dismiss bugs. "Why are you always so poetic all the damn time?" Nara cried out hitting the top of her friend's head. San-yeong let out a small yelp but didn't retaliate. "I am a tortured poet. Tortured because I can't hold my pen properly and a poet because it is my job to hold pens..." San-yeong whispered softly.A tear slipped past her eyes as she reminisced about the time she was in high school and all the awards she received for her poems and stories. All those moments when she showed her mother the certificates but instead of praising her, Na Mi-suk used to say "I would rather that you finish all the carrots on your plate than waste your time on these competition just because you wrote an essay which was decent than the others."
From that time onwards San-yeong stopped showing her mother anything she wrote. When her mother caught her writing in diaries she would quickly hide them and feel guilty for wasting her time on writing. All this time she spent being a goody-two-shoes and in return when she was nearing her forties, her mother still expected her to be the same. The trophy daughter, the diamond of her eyes that never lost its shine.
"Eonnie! Are you crying?" Upon hearing Seok-ryu's voice San-yeong quickly sniffled and wiped her tears. She sat up and saw Nara passed out. San-yeong shook her head and turned around to see Kang Sung-hoon, Jeong Mo-eum, Choi Seung-hyo and her younger sister Seok-ryu. All of them intently staring at her to say something.
"I was yawning..." She dismissed them. Seung-hyo and Seok-ryu however were sceptical of her answer. The two shared a look but nevertheless didn't press on the matter. "Are you cooking? Make some for me too I'm hungry..." San-yeong walked over towards the edge of the roof and stretched. Seung-hyo quietly slipped past Seok-ryu and the others. He quickly ruffled through the pockets of his trousers.
"Have this..." San-yeong looked at his hands to see him holding out a small packet of guava jellies. She let out a small chuckle. "They still sell this?" Seung-hyo licked his upper lip and looked at his hands "uhh... yeah"
San-yeong took the packet from him and ripped it open. After popping one of the candy in her mouth she offered one to Seung-hyo. When he made no effort to take it, she held it in front of his mouth. The man flinched but nevertheless leaned forward and ate the jelly. He felt the hair on his back rise at the way his lips brushed San-yeong's index and thumb.
He quickly turned to his right and bit his own index. Just as he turned around again, she held out another jelly for him but this time he took it by hand. The moment his fingers brushed her, he felt goosebumps rise all over his body.
Seung-hyo scoffed at himself. "Are you done already? I'm starving!" He snapped at Seok-ryu. "Who are you to order me around?! Cook your own food if you're so hungry!!" Roared Seok-ryu.
"You offered to cook for me! I was having a nice time in my office!!"
"Why did you accompany us then?! I was perfectly fine with Mo-eum, me and Sung-hoon oppa!!"
"Would you both shut up?! You're in your thirties for God sake and are still bickering like a bunch of seven year olds!!" San-yeong shouted at the two. She glared at Seok-ryu and then at Seung-hyo.
Seung-hyo lowered his head and quietly shuffled next to Mo-eum. "It's as if I just experienced Deja vú..." Mo-eum laughed. Seung-hyo nudged her to get nudged back.

A/n
I kinda like this chapter. It really talks about how writing and careers like these are always discarded.
I wanted to be a writer but here I am studying medical.
Also I wrote this chapter while watching Kim Taeri's new drama Jeongnyeon: The star is born and I am honestly tempted to start a GL fic on this! Also I checked online that there is no male lead (as of now) in Jeongnyeon so maybe we'll get our first major Korean GL drama!!Who knows? 😏
Also I'm tempted to write a fic on Family by choice because I officially can't and don't accept the female lead.
Like Jung Chaeyeon is amazing but boy is Yoon Juwon's character annoying. 😭
I hope they redeem her character after the leap of 10 years arc.
Hope you enjoyed the same ❤️
