The next morning, Althea and Ezra regrouped at Rowan's library, hearts racing from their close encounter with Lyria. Rowan's face was etched with worry as they recounted the events of the previous night.

"Lyria is growing stronger, and we don't have much time," Rowan said, pacing the room. "You must complete your training and unite the elements within you. Only then can you confront her."

Determined, Althea and Ezra immersed themselves in training, facing their fears and pushing their limits. Day by day, Althea felt her bond with the elements deepen, but each new power came with challenges that threatened to pull them apart.

One evening, as they practiced summoning flames, a surge of fire spiraled out of control. Althea gasped as the flames flickered dangerously close to Ezra. "Ezra, watch out!" she shouted, panic rising within her.

"Focus, Althea!" he called, his eyes steady as he helped her regain control. "You can do this!"

With a deep breath, she drew on the water from nearby and extinguished the flames. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice trembling. "I'm trying, but it's overwhelming."

Ezra stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I believe in you, Althea. Together, we can overcome anything."

Their connection sparked in the air, and in that moment, Althea felt the intensity of her feelings for him. "Ezra, I—" she began, but the moment was interrupted by a loud crash from outside.

The ground shook as a dark force erupted from the forest, and Althea knew their time was running out. Lyria was coming for them, and they had to be ready.
