Down on the ground, Isshiki's expression reflected pure disbelief as he stared at Ron. "This killing... is a challenge from the House of M?"
Ron, who had been silently fuming beside you, answered swiftly. "Yes, one directed at us."
Isshiki frowned, his eyes darting back and forth between you and Ron, trying to make sense of everything. "Okay, so the mark is in the same place as the scar on your neck, Ron. The numbers from Revelation 9:6 also match the numbers in your scar. But couldn't that be confidence?"
"Isshiki as a detective, you never assume coincidence. Every possibility matters. This is not a sign of confidence, but rather an intentional clue." You pointed it out.
"You mean. ..." Isshiki trailed off in shock to grasp the meaning behind your word.
Ron's expression darkened, his fists clenching with barely contained rage. "Like Y/n said, this is no coincidence. This is them mocking me. The trick behind the crime and its baffling nature... I don't know the House of M well enough to say it was them based on that alone. But the scorn I feel is directed at me in this crime just like in the Bloody Training Incident that I understand very clearly. So clearly that the anger's making me sick to my stomach."
