Author POV
Amelia heart raced as Nick placed a knife on her neck. He smirked when he saw her being scared
"I wouldn't dream of doing anything to the future wife of Mr. Edward Davies" he said, his voice dripping with mockery, leaving her more confused than ever.
"Anyway, I won't have to lift a finger. He'll ruin your life all on his own" Nick added by moving away the knife from her neck, planning to plant seeds of doubt in her mind
He smirked "I saw the photo, you were being quite lovey dovey with him on the road" he said being angrily possessive while moving the knife tip from her temple to cheek
"How i wish to ruin everything-"
"But you can't" she said while looking straight into his eyes
"Bitch! You dare to speak back!" He gritted his teeth making her flinch
"I will tell Mr. Davies if you -" she was trying to warn him
"Just few sweet talks and you started trusting him? Fuck! You are still that easy going girl!" He moved his face more closer to hers while blocking her against the wall, flashing torch on her face "Don't forget you are his wife in exchange of money, you are obliged to serve him because you are his submissive and if you make him angry-" he laughed evilly "I think by now you must know a little about his anger issue"
His words had an effect on her making her to be frightened to hell, still she gathered courage not to break down yet
"Just leave before I scream!" Amelia voice trembled with anger and fear.
"Oh, go ahead and scream. But how will you explain that we were in the locker room together? Do you really think anyone would believe you?" His question struck her hard, igniting her insecurities. Only her friends ever stood by her, and now, in this busy café surrounded by strangers, she felt trapped.
Creating a scene here would only make things worse
Nick's words hung heavy in the air, unsettling Amelia. Just then, Nick phone buzzed in his pocket. He stepped back, glanced at the screen, and saw it was his stepfather calling so he quickly shoved the phone back into his pocket.
"You know, he is not what he seems" Nick said, leaning closer, his tone dripping with malice "the world is afraid of how he treats people behind closed doors. He is possessive and controlling. Do you really think he cares about a worthless girl like you who have nothing to give except your body"
Amelia heart sank as his words weaving a web of insecurity around her mind.
"I wonder for how long will he even use your body after marriage.. one week? Two week?" He laughed "do you think he will bring his girlfriend or directly marry another girl too"
Nick spitted whatever words came on his mind then turned and jumped out of the locker room window, disappearing into the night, leaving her in a whirlwind of thoughts and fear.
Amelia knelt against the wall, her breath shallow, feeling as if the ground had fallen away beneath her. She was lost in a storm of thoughts, replaying Nick's words
"They are all liars, I don't want to believe him.. But what if there's some truth to it?" She wondered
After what felt like an eternity, a soft, persistent knock on the door pulled her from her troubled thoughts. She cleared her throat, took a deep breath to steady herself, and opened the door.
Amelia opened the door to find a waitress of the café standing there, her expression tinged with nervousness. Amelia was wondering about the reason why she was nervous, then she saw the reason behind her.
