Kairos' POV:
The day had started so well..and somehow one singular person would get to ruin it.
I woke up with non-tangled hair for once, my parents were still home to wave me goodbye and Castello -our feisty cat- even came to greet me. I had thrown my backpack on with a smile on my face, ready to seize the day, like the poet Horace said, "Carpe Diem".
I walked alone to the bus stop, glad to escape the chaos at home that followed my parents leaving for work. They spent all morning finding their stuff, packing, ignoring their three children -eldest son, but middle child (me, 17), youngest child (Zack, 14) and eldest daughter (Mary, 19 ). It was better to get out and towards your destination without quarrel or being in the way for your parents. My headphones blared music through my ears.
The thoughts and joy of thinking about the next vacation ended the second a person slammed into my chest, just barely small enough to not knock me down onto the pavement. I ran a hand over my hair to smooth it down, feeling self-conscious as the girl stared up at me with terrifying eyes. Her stature was significantly shorter, but she also looked like a "high and mighty" smart-ass in those circular glasses. Brown, seemingly tangled hair was tied into a bun , not doing anything for her with the amount of hair loosened by the wind already. I just silently glared at her like an awkward idiot, not even a single "You good?" or "Sorry"'s.Little Miss Shortie Pants looked pissed after I turned around to speak with the guys I hung around last year. Not friends, just acquaintances. One of them told a joke, Jonas. I just called him Jo'ass since he could be such an ass towards girls (and guys at times). The other guys laughed because of it. In my peripheral vision I could see the same girl who crashed into me without apologizing, getting on the bus the second it arrived. I followed my acquaintances inside, looking for a seat by them. They sat down around Glasses, probably wanting to bother her the whole ride.
I took courage to me and sat down beside her. I could feel her staring daggers into the back of my head. She was most likely going to kill me the second we arrived at school grounds, but for now she was stuck beside the person she was unfortunate enough to bump into. I felt like an asshole today, so I decided silently that I would annoy this stranger to death. What could go wrong? Surely such a bellow-average-sized girl couldn't do any significant harm?( ★ Chapters/parts will be short, simple and of kind cringe at times. I apologize in advance ★ )
