We run for the woods and the second we're hidden I stop. I look at the group of men fighting and the brave girl fighting them. She screams mighty battle cries, dodges, and kills. Tiger Lily is a force to be reckoned with. I turn away as she slays another enemy. Get Pan to safety, her words ring in my head. That is my job. We take off again and quicker than I thought we break free from the forest and Pan tells me to stop.

"We need to go to my house. I need to grab something."

"What happened to playing it safe?"

"I've never said those words in my life."

We make our way back over to his house. The second we get inside he shoves off of me and stumbles over to his dresser. He pulls it open and grabs an outfit. He then grabs the notebook from the top of the dresser. He stumbles back over to me.

"Now to your place." I open my mouth to object and he places one of his fingers to it, "You need to grab another dress. Who knows how long we'll be stuck in hiding."

Fair point.

We leave his house and race to mine. I quickly run inside and grab a dress and my backpack. I stuff the dress in my bag and then head back outside, all in under a minute. We leave my house just as quickly as we came and take off running towards Tiger Lily's. Time seems like it's moving slowly and quickly all at the same time.

We make it to Tiger Lily's just as I feel I can run no more. Pan guides me to the secret entrance and we crawl inside. We are greeted with a spiral stone staircase. Down, down, down we go. Till we come to a stop at the base of the steps and come face to metal with a door. Pan shoves the door open and we rush inside. He slams the door shut and then turns to me with a smile.

"Looks like we made it."

"Indeed we did, Shadow Boy."

I turn away from him and take in our surroundings.

The room is medium-sized and clearly meant for one person or a pair of lovers. To my right is a small kitchen just like in my house. Near the kitchen is a circle table and two chairs. To my left is a sink, a dresser, and a curtain that must hold a shower and toilet behind it. And in the center of the wall in front of me is a single bed. Crap!

"There's only one bed."

"Surely that's not the case."

He walks around the whole room and I just stand here. Please let him find something. Please. I'm not sleeping in a bed with a boy I barely know like some romance book. He comes back with a frown on his face.

"Good and bad news. Which do you want?" He says both of the words as if their both bad news.

"Good first."

"There's a secret passage in case someone finds us that we can hide in."

I guess that's good.

"And the bad news?" I already know what it is.

"There's only one bed."

I say several swear words and storm over to the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" He asks. Out of the corner of my eye, I watch as he sits down at the table and looks at his wounds.

"Getting food," I grumble.

"Oh. Bring me some."

"Shut up."

"What's wrong with you?"

Many, many things are wrong with me at the moment. None of which I want to tell him.
