A World Divided, yet United

After the Darkness

After the darkness, the kingdom in the north was still intact. Yet, the people of what was once the Duchy of Warsaw had migrated south, settling in a spruce forest, even managing to make a boat and castle. The kingdom in the north then went fascist, adopting an official name: The Greater United Reich (GUR for short). The GUR began rapidly industrializing, while the DoW migrants, now the Socialist Republic of Austria, were lagging behind, embarrassingly so. The GUR began building some much-needed buildings, building a military command center, a parliament building, and even a monorail spanning the GUR's colony on a Mushroom Island (MIC) to the spruce forest to the east. Meanwhile, the Austrian Socialist Republic (ASR) had barely anything to show for itself, only a couple ships, a few houses, and an airship. The two decided to not go to war, rather instead making non-aggression pacts between themselves.

Then, after a while, King Andrew III took power in the GRU, renaming it to the Greater United Empire (GUE). Also, in the ASR, a queen took charge, making a second kingdom in the world: the Regency of Austria (RoA). Though, not too long later, the RoA changed its name and leader, putting a new queen. The Imperial State of Austria (Imperial Austria / IA for short) had barely been established, and the new queen, Queen Evelyn I, demanded industrialization. Imperial Austria expanded their influence, established a couple colonies, and even made a full on alliance with the GUE.

Then, Memphis became a nation. Situated on land the GUE actually granted the new nation, Memphis began to industrialize. They built a courthouse, a prison, and even airstrip, and even a military base. Though, at this point, Imperial Austria had mostly caught up in industrial power to the GUE.

Then, tragedy struck... kinda. King William III of The Greater United Empire declared war on Memphis, bombing them to hell and back and planting a flag on the nation's only skyscraper.

In the background, the GUE cooperated with IA and reformed a company: Purple Star Line (PSL). Austria had also gotten its own businesses at this point, being the Austrian Global Logging Company and the Austrian Global Fishery Company (AGLC and AGFC respectively). Then, the Austrian High School in their province of Zagreb was completed. The High School was literally the only education in the world, until the King Andrew University was established in the GUE's city of Dresden.

Then, tragedy stuck the Austrian Royal Family, the king, and the only male heir, being assassinated, and the oldest sister killing herself. It was just Queen Evelyn I and her daughter, Samantha, left. With the assassinations and suicide, the government of IA declared a national emergency. Eventually, the people responsible for the assassinations were caught and killed without a trial.

Then, just as Samantha turned 23, the military preformed a coup de'tat (or however it's spelt), overthrowing Queen Evelyn I and putting in Samantha as a puppet queen. At the same time, the parliament of the GUE preformed a more peaceful coup and took away most of King Andrew I's power - forgot to mention, King William III passed away, putting an at the time 16 year old Andrew onto the throne. At this point, the Military Governorate of Austria (MGA) and the Greater United Republic (GURblc) are the only two nations, with the two still being in a whole alliance.
