     It was an early morning as I was eating breakfast, while my mom, Gale, was leaning against the kitchen counter, drinking her coffee. My dad, Dewey, walked downstairs, ruffling my hair on the way down. He was about to say goodbye to me and mom before he left for work, but he turned back to me

"Please, be careful, Avery. You know it's not safe with the new ghostface going 'round, kiddo.."

"I Will Dad" I gave a half smile

My dad nodded, though he didn't look fully convinced that i'd be that careful. He was pretty protective over me, after all. He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Okay, I love you, kiddo. Be good, alright? Don't give your mother too much trouble.. I'll be home later tonight.." My dad gave me an awkward a side hug, before walking over to my mom to kiss her goodbye. 

I grabbed my backpack as my dad  bid farewell to my mom by the lips before he glanced over at me checking the time on his watch and raising a brow. '7:30'  "Leaving already?" "Yeah, Kirbys picking me up, then we gotta go get Jill and Olivia" my dad nodded, glancing over at mom again who was just silently watching the both of us with a small smile. "Alright kiddo. Be safe, 'kay? And don't let Kirby speed, alright?" "Mhm, ill try" I said sarcastically, dad chuckled softly, as mom chimed in with a chuckle herself, taking a sip of her coffee while she spoke.

"Mm, knowing Kirby, I doubt she'll listen to that." She just gave him a sarcastic eye-roll and took another sip of her coffee, glancing outside from the kitchen window, before setting the mug down to cross her arms over her chest. She then glanced at me. "You should get going, kiddo. Can't be late for school, right?" "Oh shoot yeah, bye mom, bye dad!" I walked out the house and saw kirby waiting.

Kirby was idly waiting outside her car, hands on her hips, tapping her heel, checking the time on her phone before noticing me come out. When she finally saw me, she smiled and waved. "Hey, Come on, we're gonna be late."

Coming!

Kirby rolled her eyes, hopping into her the front seat of her car and starting it up as I approached the passenger side, hopping into the front seat beside her.

"I swear, you take longer than a damn turtle sometimes." I just rolled my eyes "Ha ha, just drive!"

Kirby snickered, turning her car around and starting to drive

We soon arrived to Jill's house who was right next to Olivia's house. Kirby pulled up to the house and honked the horn twice, Jill soon emerging from her house, Kirby rolled the window on her car down "Okay, dont get upset" Kirby spoke to Jill "Why?" "Trevor called me last night" "Why's he calling you?" Jill said jumping into the backseat behind me. 

"He knows I have your ear and he wants to work it out" Kirby said frowning "What did Trevor have to say?" I asked now curious "He wants to know how upset Jill is" Jill noticed Olivia coming "Can we not talk about this anymore!.." Olivia opened the backseat door "So Trevor called me last night" Olivia said smirking, "Why'd he call you?" Jill turning to Olivia, mad about Trevor calling all her friends. That topic went on for a while, Kirby already driving the street to school. But the most weirdest thing happened, I got a call from Jenny Randall, I know the girl but I've never really talked to her except one time for a project in 8th grade. "Why's Jenny Randall calling me?" all of them shrugged, I answered.

AVERY:

Hello?

MANS VOICE:

Hello, Avery.

AVERY:

Jenny, is that you?

MANS VOICE: 

Whats your favorite scary movie?

AVERY:

Okay, who is this?

"What does she want?" Kirby asked but I ignored her.

AVERY:

Wheres Jenny? who is this?

MANS VOICE:

I asked you a question. Whats your favorite scary movie?

AVERY:

I'm hanging up.

I quickly ended that call. "Jenny Randall is weird. Her and her little Marnie the Carny friend are freaks" Olivia spat out "Its Massacre week, People and looney remember?" Kirby looked away from the road for a second before Jill shouted "Look out!" Kirby turned her head back to the road quickly before hitting the breaks as a truck drove by fast, you could hear the drive shouting a Kirby. "You just ran a stop sign!" I shouted at Kirby thumping the back of her head, she gonna get us all killed one day.
