chapter 1

you could almost hear the pounding of your heart, as you looked up at enormous gates of ua high. you could feel sweat building up on your forehead. maybe it was due to anxiety or having to walk up a huge hill just to get to the gates. it was both. it was definitely both. why was the damn gate so big? was it to make you even more fearful of doing this entrance exam? you grasped the strap of your bag as you pulled out your ipod to switch to a song that wouldn't make you feel as anxious.

before you could even pull it all the way out you were shoved forward by a forceful bump towards your shoulder. before you could even get a word out a boy with spiky blond hair snarled out a "move it, extra." you gaped at the boy as he continued forward. what the hell was his problem? you grumbled to yourself as you adjusted your headphones before putting them in your ears and clicking play on a song in your playlist. you shoved your ipod back into your bad and walked through gates to probably your demise. who knows?

as continued forward you noticed a boy a little bit in front of you. as you went to walk around him you saw his foot adorned in dark red shoes get caught one behind the other. before he could fall face first on the concrete you swished your hand to make the air around him push him back up. the boy stood there in shock for a moment. you took the moment to come up next to him and got a clear look at him. the boy had dark green, fluffy hair and it looked extremely curly. you wanted to run your hands through it. his face was adorned with freckles that contrasted perfectly on his chubby cheeks. his eyes were the same type a dark green as his hair. he was very cute. god. your inner thoughts need to shut up.

"sorry for using my quirk on you! i just didn't want you to fall face first and get a nosebleed or something!"

the boy gave you even more of a wide eyed look at your apology. you awkwardly looked around to see if he was staring at something behind you. there was nothing. you turned back to look at the boy, he was still blankly staring at you. abort this conversation right now! this is why we don't talk to people! you gave him a smile that probably looked like a grimace. you wished him luck in the exam and turned right towards the doors of ua and started fast walking. it's so awkward when people don't say anything to you, when you try to make conversation!

when you got through the doors of ua, you were greeted by a multitude of kids your age getting cards from what looked like robots? you waited in line to get your card then went through some double doors that opened to a huge entrance hall filled with students. this was your worst nightmare. you looked for your seating that was written on your card. the place was huge. everyone in this place had all different types of quirks from what you could see. you ended up finding your seat and the person you were sat next to had long dark green hair. her hair seemed to be in a bow but it was so long that it was her own hair shaped into a bow that fell all the way to her back. how did she handle all that? you slid in next to her and she seemed to look at you from the corner of her eye. how rude does it sound to say her face kind of looks like a frog? you felt bad for even saying that.

you breathed in softly. "hi! i'm [L/N] [Y/N]!" the girl turned to fully face you. the girl made a noise that almost sounded like a croak. "ribbit. i'm asui tsuyu. you can call me tsu." did she just say ribbit?"it's nice to meet you, tsu!" the frog like girl seemed to give a close-mouthed smile. she was so adorable! you gave her a grin "you can call me [Y/N]! it feels weird calling me by my last name." tsuyu tilted her head in confusion, "are you a foreigner, [Y/N]?" you nodded your head enthusiastically. "i moved here last year! i haven't been in japan that long." the girl put her finger on her chin. "i should have known. most people get uncomfortable when i ask them to use my first name."
