Is it Really What it Seems?

Chapter 1

As I was walking from my second block class I got pulled into the janitor's closet, I began screaming for help not wanting to get hurt. A hand then quickly clasped down over my mouth preventing me from screaming. The janitor's light string was pulled lighting up the room. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I conveyed my surroundings and saw my friends Kit, Lakin, Sage, C, Dani, Ie, Rah, Q, Jarlyn, Jas, Jose,V, and bug. I sigh in relief. Looking up at Jose, I ask "Why did yall pull me in here?" He looked down at me and said "What is going on with you, you're acting different."

"What do you mean?" I ask as I raise my eyebrow, looking up at him with a small smile.

"You're hiding stuff from us, Aspen." They all say in unison.

"That sounds like y'all rehearsed that." I said jokingly as I reached for the doorknob. Only to be stopped by Jose.

"We are serious, what's up with you. You're hiding stuff, and we are concerned."  He says with a worried look. I look around the closet to see everyone with that same look. I let out a sigh.

"I'm fine, it's just..." I cutting myself off wondering if I should tell them.

"It's just I'm thinking about Brayden. I don't know what to do. I wanna tell him how I feel, but I don't have the guts to." I say with a sigh of relief. "It's just the look of him bro. I can't even keep eye contact with him without smiling or spazzing out." I say slumping down the wall with my head in my lap.

"Hey, Hey, it's okay. You will find a way to talk to him." says Kit with a small smile.

"Yeah, you're right." I tell Kit as I get up off the floor.

"Let's go before we are late for class." I say quickly realizing the time.
"Bye, people." I say as I run out of the the closest to my second period class right before Mrs. BlackWell shuts the door
"We're here" I say, raising my voice slightly as me and Kit rush into the room. As I'm going to my seat I see a very familiar person behind my seat which stops me in my tracks, as Kit hits my back not paying attention to where they are going. Rubbing their head look up at me slightly irritated
"Why did you stop Asp-" cutting themselves off in the middle of their sentence as they notice who I'm staring at.

"Ohhhhh." Kit says wiggling their eyebrows adding a little giggle out of themselves. They pushed me to my seat, almost making me stumble. I slowly got to my seat nervous. As I sit down in my chair, I can feel his eyes on me.  All I can do is put my head down and sleep. As I'm sleeping I feel a hand on my thigh. I tense up but still do not move as I know who it is.

I soon fall asleep again only to be woken up by my class project partners Kit and Brayden. Me not knowing what's going on, looking up at Kit  saying
"Child, what are we supposed to be doing?" I ask with a silly smile. Kit just shakes their head and giggles.

Just as we were going to leave, our teacher stopped us by saying ¨Wait up guys! You have another partner,since no one else wants her as their partner so I chose your group. Have fun and treat each other with respect." our teacher says. As she moved we see ¨IT¨

"Hey BESTIES!!!" It says with a big smile running towards us with its arms out wanting a hug. I give Kit the look we both step aside. I guess Brayden takes that as a sign and also moves aside making it trip and fall. 
"What was that for?" It asked as if it didn't know.

"You know why Kaylee, you know what you did and I will never Forgive you!" I said, raising my voice a notch, getting aggravated. I stormed out with kit and Brayden hot on my tail.

"Slow down Aspen!" Kit yells out to me. I was so angry, that I didn't even hear her. I was ready to slap some sense into her. My body began to hurt. My eyes began to hurt, and my body started to burn. I could hear Kit's voice starting to fade. All I could focus on was this amazing scent and, Brayden's voice calling out my name. Out of nowhere, I felt someone hugging me and whispering in my ear telling me it will all be ok. I started to calm down and lean into the person's chest and sniff.

I hear a low chuckle and a small rumble in the person's chest. I look up to see Brayden & blush. I pull away quickly and speed to Kit pulling their arm. As we are passing by Brayden, he pulls me back in whispers in my ear "Who said you can leave Baby-Girl?" His voice was so deep and husky, my knees began to buckle. I can feel my face begin to heat up. I try to pull away but he holds me tighter "Stopppp! Let me go!"

  I scream/whisper to him not trying to make a fuss, since we are literally in the middle of the courtyard with people around us. Kit behind me smile. He leans down with a smile on his face and plants a kiss on my cheek. I blush and finally pull away. Pulling Kit along as we go to our vehicles with our friends waiting.

"Where have you been?" Jośe asked. Before I was even able to get a word out, Kit busted in telling them what all went down. They all throw questions at me. I try to answer all the questions, but it all becomes too much. I run back into the school only to see that it would break me forever.

As I walk through the common's door, I see Brayden and my so-called bestie Kaylee hugging and kissing. I stopped dead in my tracks, letting our encounter run through my head. I begin to back up quietly, but I end up knocking over a small trash can. "When the hell did this get here?" I say in my head while trying to quietly get out of this situation. Brayden and Kaylee heads shoot toward my way. Kaylee only smiles while Brayden looks apologetic.

I couldn't think right. Alot of things are going through my head. Were they just messing with me? How long was this going on? All these thoughts shooting through my mind that I didn't notice Brayden walking towards me. His hand on my shoulder brought me out of my trance. "Don't Fucking touch me!" I snapped at him, my heart racing. "I thought you were different but you're just the same as everyone else. I hope you rot in hell. YOU  FUCKING PIGS!!" I scream storming out of the commons pushing everyone out of my way. What the fuck they thought this was a dam movie. "This day can't get any worse." I commented to myself as I walked to my Truck.

As I'm walking to my Truck I look up to see Jose leaning up against it. He has a sad face. I sped up my pace wanting to see what was wrong with him. "Hey Jose, what's goin on?" I ask with a slight smile wanting to change his mood. "I'M JOINING THE MILITARY!!" He screamed  with a sigh of relief. At that moment, I didn't know how to feel. I was happy that he was achieving his dreams, but he was also leaving me. He doesn't understand how I feel about him. He is like my long lost brother, and he wants to leave me.

I couldn't let him see me sad about him following his dreams. I looked up with tears in my eyes, the best smile I could muster, and said "I'm so happy for you. You're following your dreams and I can't wait to see you achieve and go beyond the stars." I bursted out crying, and he pulled me in. We were both crying. We stood there for a good minute till our feet started to hurt. We got into the Truck to drive and get something to eat. We sat at the park where we first met, I laid my head on his shoulder and watched the sun rest for the night. Little did I know that was going to be the last normal day.
