Miles & Struggles chapter 1

Welcome to the town

At approximetly 7 am a red car was driving on a road dirt road. The air was moisty and a thin fogg was on the ground. Sun was just starting to rise and in the car there was an uneasy atmosphere. The driver Miles Trevor looked at hid adopted son, Henry Pale and asked:

-Is something troubling your head?
Asked Miles while trying to sound frienly and relaxed

-No! Okay there is.
Answered the boy answered and continiued

-I don't like how my hair looks.
He replied.

Miles got bit more calmer after the answer and replied back

- i told you im not the best barber. That is why i keep my own head bald.

Henry still looked down in shame and partly in fear and stress. Not long until Trevor broke the silence and hit the cars brakes.

-It seems we have arrived at our destination.

The two jumped out their car, and entered the oldfashioned town, wich had roads made out of sand. All the buildings, while looking diffrent from time to time, were architecturally almost identical and the colors repeated themselves constantly. The streets were silent and the atmosphere was uneasy and bit ghostly.

-Welcome to Dawntown
Declares Miles, breaking the silence.
Henry still felt a seeming tension after their discussion in the car, and tried to talk about it for once more

-Sorry for what i said in the car.

He replied.
Miles turned towards his adopted son and tried to comfort him.

-Stop blaming yourself about our problems. I am not the best when it comes to making money, but it is still my job to set ourselves free from the slum we live in.

Dawntown and their current home town. It all started to click in Henrys head, reminding him of that evening. He saw a flashback from not so far in the past, and it was the worst part of it. It was too much for his younh head, and he lost his consciousness, and fell to the ground.
Miles immidietly started to act, he crouched next to his young son and tried to wake him up. Few slaps to the cheek and Henry started to get back on this world.
