Chapter 12 - Someone unexpected coming!

As the day progressed and Orario's chaos began to settle, a steady stream of applicants flowed into the Hearth Mansion, each woman eager to join the rising Hestia Familia. Haruka stood at the forefront, sharp-eyed, assessing each candidate. Although many adventurers presented themselves, none impressed her. The room was filled with anticipation, but Haruka's discerning standards were unwavering.

Each hopeful woman stepped forward, introducing themselves with practiced confidence. However, after quick evaluations, Haruka dismissed them one by one, her expression remaining indifferent.

"Not good enough."

The words fell like a quiet verdict after each attempt, and soon the applicants thinned, disappointment setting in among the crowds. Hestia, overwhelmed by the sheer number of women, glanced at Haruka with concern.

"We could use the numbers, Haruka. Are you sure none of them are suitable?"

Haruka's eyes remained fixed on the last departing applicant.

"Numbers won't matter if they don't have the strength or loyalty to back it up. "I won't waste time on mediocrity."

She replied, her tone measured.

Hestia sighed, though she trusted Haruka's judgment. It was already late afternoon when the surge of adventurers finally slowed, the once-bustling atmosphere quieting down. The Hearth Mansion, now emptied of the hopeful candidates, sat in an unusual stillness.

Just as the sun began to set, casting deep orange and crimson hues across the sky, a figure appeared at the entrance of the Hestia Familia's mansion. This time, it wasn't just another applicant—Ais Wallenstein stood at their doorstep.

"Ais... Wallenstein?"

Hestia's voice trembled with disbelief, her eyes widening at the sight of the Sword Princess.

Ais, with her long golden hair shimmering in the evening light, radiated calm power. Her golden eyes locked on Haruka, reflecting unwavering resolve. She wore her sleek adventurer's attire, her pale skin stark against the dark armor that hugged her figure. There was no mistaking her legendary presence, and yet, here she stood at the door of the humble Hestia Familia.

Without hesitation, Ais stepped forward, her gaze fixed solely on Haruka.

"I want to join the Hestia Familia."

Hestia gasped, the shock evident on her face.

"W-What? You... You want to join my Familia?"

She stammered, her mind racing to process the sheer magnitude of Ais's request. It was unthinkable—Ais Wallenstein, the Sword Princess, a legendary figure in Orario, widely regarded as one of the strongest adventurers of her generation and a cornerstone of the powerful Loki Familia, now standing at her doorstep, asking to join the humble Hestia Familia. The weight of Ais's reputation bore down on Hestia's thoughts. The possibility of such a renowned warrior leaving her prestigious Familia for their modest group seemed absurd, impossible even.

"But... you're with the Loki Familia! Why would you want to leave them?"

Hestia can't believe someone like Ais would say that. Haruka, on the other hand, kept her composure, though the surprise flickered in her eyes. A slow smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she raised an eyebrow.

"Well, now. This is unexpected, isn't it? The Sword Princess wants to leave Loki Familia for ours?"

Haruka's tone was playful, though laced with curiosity. She took a step closer to Ais, her gaze never wavering.

"Why would you want to join another Familia, especially ours, when you're already part of one of the strongest in Orario?"

Ais's eyes remained locked on Haruka as she responded, her voice steady.

"I want to be with you. I want to have sex with you. I want to be your lover."

Her words carried a weight that silenced the room. Hestia's eyes widened, and a deep flush crept across her cheeks as she realized the implications. This wasn't just admiration or respect for Haruka's abilities—it was something far more intimate.

"Sex, huh? So it's because of the sex I did with Hestia-sama."

Hestia blushes when she remembers how her first time went and it is really still fresh on her mind since it's an unforgettable memory that she might always remember in her entire life.

"Well, I can't say I'm not flattered. It's one of my greatest points, after all."

Haruka purred, stepping even closer to Ais. Her voice dropped as she continued.

"But are you sure? Leaving the Loki Familia for me isn't something you can take lightly. Especially for... sex. Wanting to be my lover..."

Ais nodded without hesitation.

"I am sure."

Haruka's amusement deepened, her intrigue growing. She wasn't one to let such an opportunity pass without testing it first.

"Alright then. If you want to join Hestia-sama's Familia, prove it. Go back to Loki and tell her you want to leave."

She crossed her arms, her eyes glinting with a mix of authority and amusement.

"If you manage that, I'll consider your request."

Ais's expression didn't falter for a second.

"I understand."

With that, she turned to leave, her golden armor catching the last rays of the sun as they gleamed against her determined figure. Her steps were steady, echoing the resolve in her heart. Haruka watched her retreat with a smile, knowing that if Ais truly followed through, the power dynamics of Orario could shift dramatically.

As Ais disappeared from view, Haruka turned back to Hestia, and her playful smirk fully returned.

"Well, Hestia-sama, I think things are about to get a lot more interesting around here, don't you?"

She teased, her voice light, playful, and carrying a teasing lilt as she glanced over at the goddess seated beside her. Her lips curled into a mischievous smile, eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and curiosity.

Hestia could only nod in agreement, still processing the whirlwind of emotions and events that had unfolded in front of her. The Hestia Familia had already garnered significant attention, but now, with the possibility of Ais Wallenstein joining their ranks, the future held even more exciting—and unpredictable—prospects.

"Loki will be mad if she heard it, but..."

Hestia smiles widely and laughs imagining Loki's face when Ais says she will join her familia because of Haruka. It's a fun and interesting idea for Hestia since she and Loki always have some sort of rivalry between them.

"...that idea might not be so bad. Having Ais Wallenstein as one of my Familia members..."

"You're right, Hestia-sama. Ais can be one of your powerful and great assets if she does join. She is a strong and renowned adventurer, after all."
