The sun rose, casting a golden hue across the quiet town. It was just another ordinary Friday. The soft light seeps into my room. I wake up and sit at my desk, preparing for the day ahead. When I'm finished, I walk out of my room. The triplets were still laying in their bed but the doors of their rooms were open, which means someone woke them up already.

I went downstairs and saw a note laying on the kitchen counter.

you can make some pancakes if you want to, i left the ingredients in the left bottom drawer. have fun at school love you!! - mom

My eyes light up, I love me some pancakes. I open the drawer to grab all the ingredients and make the pancakes. "Are you all staying in bed or are we still having pancakes?" I called out. "Only if you bring it upstairs." Nick yelled but I heard someone coming down the stairs. "Stay in bed all you want, but i'm having pancakes." Matt said and sat down at the table. "You better save me some, Maddie." Chris shouted. "Or you can never borrow my hoodie again."

"How hard is it to come out of your bed, seriously." I sighed and started to make the pancakes.

I arrive at school and I walk to the entrance. The leaves were crunching beneath my feet and I pushed my hair behind my ear. I was anxious for the long day, but excited to see my favorite teacher, having soccer practice and meeting up with friends at the end of the day.

Finally, the final dismissal bell rang. My friends, Ava, Jess and Aubrey were waiting at Jess's car. We were buzzing with excitement after a grueling day at school.

"I can't believe Mr. Thompson gave us another pop quiz. This is maybe like the 3th time this week." I say. "I know right? Who does he think he is, a quiz wizard?" Ava said.

"Right? I nearly blacked out." Jess said. "But hey, let's grab slushies, I need sugar after that torture."

I look up and see the sky turning gray, but it's probably nothing we should worry about. I climb into the backseat next to Ava. Jess was driving and Aubrey sat in the passenger seat. The chatter and laughter continues as we scroll through our playlists. We enjoy our freedom as we drive off, the windows down and music blasting.

"Can y'all believe we're almost free? Almost no more homework!!" Aubrey said grinning. "Oh my gosh, that sounds amazing right now." I say looking out the window. I glance at my phone, seeing a text from my dad. I quickly text back that I'm home later.

"You think your brothers will let you come to the party this weekend?" Aubrey asked turning to me. I roll my eyes. "As if! They act like I can't handle being around more than one guy without them hovering over me."
