"Welcome one and all to the Battle of the Champions. We have gathered worthy champions from all around the universe, and here they are." An announcers voice rings through the arena as the crowd cheers. "First up, we have Manali from the planet X-minka." An orange human-like creature entered the ring a determined look on her face. She held her two orange tinted arms in the air above her head, waving to the crowd.
"I will fight for my home planet,"  Manali announces. "Xashika," she says, I assume that to be her native language.
"Next up, we have Akuva, from planet Yomno." A dark blue skinned alien enters the ring a black blindfold across his eyes. He salutes the crowd. The announcer continues to introduce competitors into the Battle of Champions. "And know last but not least let me introduce you too... Jasmine from planet Earth." I walk into the arena waving awkwardly, still not sure what was going on. Let me rewind for a second and tell you how I got here, shall we?

I had just gotten home from school that day, when I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to see a package with no return address. I closed the door and ignored it, knowing never to bring suspicious packages inside.  Sadly, my curiosity got the best of me. I took the package to my room and studied it closely. After deeming it safe, I opened it to find a piece of paper inside.
"Dear Jasmine, your application to the Battle of Champions has been accepted. Have caution, the Battle of the Champions is not for the faint of heart. See you in the arena champion of Earth."  The note read. The world started to shift around me, and soon, I landed in an empty room that looked similar to my room on earth except for the giant screen on the wall.

     Welcome, Champion of planet Earth.
"What is this place?" I asked the screen.
This is planet Roko, also known as the in-between planet. They hold all their major events here that include the Battle of Champions. Would you like me to explain this event?
"Yes, please," I say, trying to get some context on what the hell is going on.
The Battle of Champions is a sacred event. Every year, a champion from every planet is chosen to compete. The planets of X-minka, Yomno, Gashima, Shironako, and ten others. Earth was recently added to this group of champions.
"Are there rules?" I ask.
Yes, you may befriend and team up with other players, but be careful because betrayal is always an option. You will undergo fifteen trials. After each one planet will be eliminated. The victor brings honor to their planet and be granted the title of Champion. To keep things fair, you can never have more than three allies and no deadly injuries. Good luck, young Champion of Earth. It's time for your entrance.

Great, now you're all caught up. I wave awkwardly, still not one hundred percent sure of what's going on. I discreetly join the group of competitors. Now that the original shock had worn off, I was extremely curious. I run a hand through my short, brown hair. Looking around, I find myself standing next to the one introduced as Manali.
"First time?" Manali asks her back turned to me.
"Umm... you could say that." I say watching the others train with each other. Some are sparing, others going over what looked like flashcards.
"What's your class?"
"Class?" Manali turns to look at me. She had golden eyes, long red hair, and what looked to be three horns like a crown around her head.
"Your skill, your specialty, that's called a class. I'm class intelligence."
"Oh... I don't know, actually. I'm not overly smart, I don't know how to fight." I say.
"Maybe your class is being in denial." Manali says with a chuckle.
I chuckle slightly but get distracted watching who the announcer called Akuva. Manali follows my gaze and scoffs. "He has been going to the Battle of Champions for three years. Never won. Not once, but I don't trust him." She says.
"And know for the first trail of the Battle of Champions," the announcers voice boomed through the arena. "The competitors must work alone or in teams to defeat... ten army drones."

Here's hoping I don't die
