Where a trip with Kamui to the shopping mall gets our Reader to be a little more honest with herself.
"Hey, today I want to know more about samurai."
You widened your eyes in surprise at the strange question Kamui asked. Usually, the only things he wanted to know about your planet concerned food, maybe weapons, but he had never inquired about its people. And, to tell the truth, it's not like you were all that knowledgeable about the matter: the art of the sword didn't pick your interest at all. You went to work at an intergalactic company because you always wanted to go to space; since your sights were set on exploring the universe and its depths, everything related to Edo wasn't something that piqued your interest at all. Moreover, the one who gave you the ropes about mechanics and robots lost his son, in a desperate war, hoping to throw away the Amanto from your country. His son lost his life because his samurai's beliefs led him to think that fighting away the enemies was the answer, instead of trying to learn something from them. You, being the curious inventor you were, just didn't get that way of thinking.
Regardless, it looked like the young pirate knew even less than you, so you shared what little knowledge you had about the matter. He listened way more carefully than usual and his eyes were fixed on your mouth, basically absorbing every word you said. His intense stare took you back to the time when you tried to bandage his injuries; at that time, his blue eyes lingered on you way too long and they gave your brain the opportunity to form strange ideas. Like – you couldn't believe you even thought about that – wanting to kiss him. It's not like you had never fell in love before. It was just that your past lovers weren't a part of a bloodthirsty race that was feared all across the universe. While you were wrapping messily the bandage on his wrists your mind – that treacherous mind - reminded you that Kamui's mouth was just a few inches away from yours. His lips looked so soft and you almost caught yourself imagining how they would feel on your neck. You could have gotten away with brushing your mouth against his easily, blaming everything on your poor balance. It could have been brushed off as a simple incident, and you didn't envision Kamui thinking deeply about that. You were almost on the verge of executing that disastrous plan when something very important crossed your mind like a thunderbolt. He was basically bathing in the blood of his enemies for a reason. By now, he didn't deem you as a dangerous opponent – especially seeing how he went straight to your office after being injured. That was true, but his fighting instincts were always on the lookout for possible attacks. If you were to suddenly throw yourself at him he could easily broke your head in two, rendering your brain splattered on your office walls, even if it was just his instincts protecting him. All those reasoning prevented you from kissing him on the spot – which was very good. On the other hand, you spent the following night on the internet asking Google about the reproductive system of the Yato race – which wasn't very good at all. Unluckily for your remaining mental sanity, it turned out that not only your reproductive systems were totally compatible, but also that the male Yato specimens were significantly bigger down there than the average human male – which wasn't a bad thing per se. If only you didn't spend the following night having a very detailed dream about Kamui taking you in every possible way – which was undoubtedly bad and to be avoided at all costs. It took every ounce of your self-control to be able to face him normally the next morning. That episode shocked you quite a lot and, after more intense reasoning, you concluded that you had that dream because you had a very busy week and needed to relax in some ways.
"Is it possible to build a samurai robot?"
Shaking you again from your wandering, Kamui asked you something pretty strange again. He really loved those samurai. What was it that made him like them so much? You were really curious about that and kept looking at him in a skeptical way. He somehow got the clue and explained that a super strong samurai overthrew the reign of terror that his former master was having in Edo.
