Juliette's POV ∙
There he is. That idiot. Elias Gray. I turn my gaze to the pavement, attempting to avoid his gaze.
"Avoiding me now, are we?"
Crap.
I turn and notice him speeding up to catch up to my pace. "Leave me alone, Gray. I don't have time to deal with you." He chuckles softly before looking up at me. "Don't be like that, I'm sure you could spare some time for me?" I roll my eyes at his cockiness, sighing silently before speeding up my pace to divert his attention elsewhere. Seemingly it didn't work becuase he sped up with me, his long legs easily pacing through the distance. "Why so gloomy, Juley? Is it because you missed me?"
"You wish."
"Hm." Something wraps around my arm and I gasp before noticing it's one of his friends, attempting to taunt me for him. "Hey there, princess." Mocking. His boastful tone does well to annoy me. "Get your hands off of me!" He bursts out into laughter while Elias gives out an awkward chuckle before noticing some teachers walking over, possibly to reprimand them.
"Marcus! Let's go! These old hags are coming over."
"Way to ruin the fun. Well princess, we'll see you later." They take off running before the staff notice them and I'm left full of rage with Gray's cockiness and his friends inability to understand basics human decency.
I hate them
A sharp ringing beings me back to reality, dragged away from my own thoughts and I start heading to class.
As I enter the lesson, I greet my teacher and take a seat next to one of my friends. "Hey, Lyra!"
The owner of the name turns to look at me, seeming to be zoned out with her own thoughts, as usual. "Oh hi! When did you even get here?"
"I feel offended." She lets out a quiet laugh, as our tutor has started rambling on about fairly trivial concepts.
"Juliette?"
"Hm?"
"You were a little late today, what happened?"
"Gray and his friends."
"Idiots. Did they do anything stupid?"
"They're always stupid."
"True." She shrugs slightly before diverting her attention back to our teacher and grabbing her pen to start writing notes whilst I put an earbud into one ear and turn on my music, trying not to catch the attention of anyone as I start listening to the lecture with an indifferent attitude.
Soon the words seem to be blurred into nothing and I rest my head in my palm as I notice many stares landing upon me. I sit up in confusion and glance at the large screen. A question is displayed on the board.
"Miss Falks, are you back in reality now?"
"Yes.. sir."
"Good! Now, seeing as you are so unbothered about my lecture why don't you answer the question on the board for us? Yep come on! Up you get."
Oh god.
Luckily, the question on the board was fairly straightforward, however I hesitate slightly before walking up to the whiteboard and grabbing a pen out of my teacher's hand and I start solving the equation, settling into the rhythm fairly quickly.
"Thank you, Miss Falks, however, next time pay attention."
"Yes, I'm sorry sir."
I let out a massive sigh as the bell rings, everyone starts packing their things and exiting the room as I walk back to my desk and start packing mine.
"Well well, miss "perfect grades" doesn't seem so perfect anymore now, does she?" I know that voice like the back of my hand. And I wish it would disappear.
"At least I am not failing this class."
I watch his eyes widen, and I grin in satisfaction, knowing I have set his ego aside for the better. He lets out a sigh and exits the room.
What?
No fighting, taunting or bantering?
He just exits the room and stares at the floor, unnerved.
Huh.
