My Nemesis

Chapter 9

"Why can't we be like this Dad?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean talking like this. Right now I know that you are here for me that you care for me. But whenever I visit or meet you, a different kind of awkwardness spreads. These moments that I am sharing with you why can't they last forever and the tension between us just vanish." I said what I always wanted to. I've always kept this thing in my heart today I finally let it out.

"I am sorry Kelly." He said.

"No dad ple-"

"Let me say it today. I am sorry Kelly for my behavior. I know that how I was with you is not right but I don't know. You know when I was little, I was the most notorious among my brothers. Dad always used to scold me. I was the one because of whom he had to visit the principal. He said me many things Kelly. I thought that he is wrong and I kind of felt unloved. But now that I look back in the past I can feel that he cared about me and loved me. Only if I could realize it soon and say him that I love him too. Dad's death made me miserable to be honest. I was aware of what I was doing but I couldn't help it but feel left out among everyone. I am sorry Kelly for everything that I did wrong. Every morning I used to say to myself that I will apologize to you but I couldn't muster up the courage. I am so sorry." Dad confessed. He was in tears and I could feel my tears on the brim of my eyes.

I embraced him and said, "It's okay dad. I really don't mind it. The important thing is that you love me and I love you dad."

He patted my back. "Go to sleep now child it's late."

"I will and you should go too." I said and he noded. We both made our way to our rooms.

I plopped down on my bed and thought of every word that dad said. I could feel the heaviness of his words. But atleast everything between us is sorted now. I am happy.

That night I slept like a child who got candy after a lot of whinning. I slept peacefully.

I woke up and felt bubbly. That's new. I got in to the bathroom, did my morning business, took a shower and changed into different clothes. I went downstairs and mom and dad were already on the dining table.

"Good morning dad." I said kissing his cheek.

"Good morning my girl." He said while smiling. Oh my god his smile is very beautiful.

Mom was looking at us with suspicious eyes but soon she smiled too. Maybe she realized that we have sorted everything.

"Good morning mom." I said kissing her cheek too.

"Good morning Kelly." She said.

We all sat on the table and the breakfast was served. Everything was my favorite. Pancakes with blueberry jam and butter and matcha tea. I was delighted and looked at mom who was smiling too.

"OH my god thank you mom. It's all my favorites." I said her. That's when Samantha showed herself from the door.

"Sammy." Dad said opening his arms to hug her.

"Hey dad. I missed you." She said while embracing the old man.

"All Kelly's favorite mom. What about me?" She said while pouting.

"Oh I'll make your favorites too." Mom replied.

Samantha then hugged mom, "Hey mom. I missed you too."

"I too missed you my child. Now sit have breakfast."

Samantha sat beside me. We all started devouring the breakfast made by our lovely mother.

After the breakfast we all sat in the living room chatting about things. A while later Samantha got up and said, "OK bye everyone. I have to go. I have some important business to attend."

"What business do you have to attend?" I asked mockingly.

"That's personal big sister. OK bye now."

She hugged mom and dad and said her goodbyes.

What do I do now?

"Hey mom and dad wanna go to a quick ride to the new car showroom that opened a few days ago?" I suggested.

"Or how about the new Persian restaurant?" Dad said.

"Or how about we go shopping for the barbecue tonight?" Mom said.

"We're having barbecue tonight?" I asked them. I didn't knew we had plans about barbecue.

"Oh I didn't tell. I must've forgotten. We visited John's and Sarah's house a few days ago and decided that we have a barbecue night. And it is today." Dad informed.

If you are wondering who John is then let me tell you, John Aston is Flynn's father. And her mother is Sarah Aston. Both of them are amazing. They are very dear to me. John and Sarah are like my second parents. I love them.

But their son. Ughhhh!

"John, Sarah, Flynn and many more relatives are going to come today. We have a lot to prepare so we cannot go anywhere but shopping." Mom said.

Dad and I sighed. Shopping is boring. Mom glared at us and we just smiled.

The day went swiftly. Mom gave me a ton of work and I am already tired.

We're having a barbecue tonight. Come on time.

Samantha
Ok I'll be there. Who else are going to come?

Me
Aunt Sarah, Uncle John and many more.

Samantha
Oh. So Flynn is also going to be there?

Me
Unfortunately yes.

Samantha
Ok I'll come. Bye. Ily sissy.

Me
Ily too stupid.

Let's get over with this barbecue.
