I looked to the building across the road and saw one window still gleaming with light. Melodious sounds were emitting from the window. I opened the window to look outside and saw a person. A boy who looked about the same age as me, playing the electric keyboard with the window wide open. I grabbed a piece of paper, wrote some words onto it and threw it through the boy's window. It landed into the window and landed on the keyboard. The boy, startled, clicked the off button of the keyboard. He stood up and looked out the window, directly looking at me. He looked back at the paper and opened it. He had an embarrassed look on his face as he frantically closed the window. He grabbed a piece of paper and pasted it against the window with his hands. The paper read out 'SORRY!' He took it off, turned off his lights and pulled down the blinds. 'The music was good but I like silence better.' I said to myself as I turned off the lights and tucked myself in. 'Tomorrow is the start of year 10, hope it goes well..! Maybe.'
'Agghhhhh!! I have to leaveeee, but I don't wannaaaa! Pick yourself up Haru!!!' Hup! 'I miss the warmth alreadyyy!'
'Late, late, late!!'
The bus sped off as I kept on running towards it. Suddenly it slowed down and stopped as I saw a boy walk away from the driver seat. The doors opened and I went on,
'Thank You!' I said to the bus driver.
I looked around to find a seat. There was only one left next to the same boy I saw talking to the bus driver when the bus slowed down.
'Do you mind if I sit here?' I asked the boy.
'Not really...' He mumbled.
'He looked familiar...sorta like that guy across my building. Yes, the one playing the music with the window. OH, it is the one that was playing the music. I should have knownnnnnnn!!'
'You,' I said softly, nudging him, 'What's your name?'
'Uh, my name? Uhm..it's Fuyu.'
'Nice name, mine is Haru! Oh and thanks for telling the driver that I was there...it would have been a messy morning for me.'
He mumbled, 'You saw?...No problem, I just happened to see you.'
Awkward silence flew in as the conversation finished.
The bus stopped and the doors flung open, we were at school. I turned to my side and saw Fuyu asleep.
I shook him softly, 'Fuyu wake up, it's time to leave.'
'Mmm, huh? He opened his eyes, rubbing them, 'Oh, ah! Uh sorry, I just dozed off a bit.'
'No worries, we are here.'
I stepped outside of the bus and went through the school gates.
I heard someone running behind me,
'Hey! Uh wait up!...Haru!'
I turned around to see Fuyu running after me, I stopped.
'Oh Fuyu, what's up?'
'Oh..well, I'm kinda new to this place and I don't want to get lost, and I don't have any friends...yet...?'
'Oh, okay then! Stick with me, I'll meet with my friend first and then I'm all yours!'
'Okay, thank you...'
I walked into the school library and saw my friend sitting at the table on the left.
'Hey! Haruuuuuu!' My friend stood up and ran towards me, hugging me.
'Akiii! It's been so longgg, how have you been?'
'I've been good, who's this boy behind you? He kinda cute.' She said, peeping her head behind me.
'Oh, this is Fuyu,' I turned to Fuyu, 'This is Aki, my childhood best friend of all time!'
'Uhm,' He mumbled, 'Hi, nice to meet you...Aki.'
Aki grabbed his hand and shook it, 'Nice to meet you too, Fuyu!'
'Aki! You can't just grab peoples' hand without consent, it might startle them!'
'Oh,' Aki said, releasing his hand and slowly backing away. 'Sorry!'
'It's alright....'
'Anyways! I'm going to show Fuyu around the school, okay? Meet you at class?'
'Sure! Bye bye, bye Fuyu!' Aki waved goodbye and sat back down.
I turned to Fuyu, 'Alright, On to destination 1!'
I ran across the school showing Fuyu to all the facilities.
'Sooo, that's about it, you'll get the hang of it soon. Any questions?'
'Not really,' He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. 'But here, this is my schedule, what class are you in?'
I took the piece of paper and read it, 'No wayyyyy, we are in the same class for every subject! What kind of coincidence is this??! Well you just have to follow me then!'
'Oh, that's good! I will be hanging around you now, hope you don't mind.'
'Not at all-' RINGGGGG! The bells rang signalling us to head to the first period.
[Timeskip] The first day of school ended and now it is after school, Fuyu and I are walking home together.
'Soooo, where do you live?' I said, remembering that he lived across the road.
'Oh uh uh, I think I live around you...maybe?' He said, mumbling.
Awkward silence...
I started chuckling, 'Okay, I can't hold it in anymore, are you the guy across the road? The one who left the window open?'
'Geez, was it that obvious...' He mumbled, looking away.
'So it was you! I wasn't mistaken. How could you forget a huge window right next to you wide open?!'
'Oh hush, I didn't realise..!' Fuyu said in defence.
We continued walking in silence, until we reached into the neighbourhood.
'Hey, before we leave, do you want to exchange numbers?' I asked
'Sure, here's mine,' He reached into his pocket and pulled his phone out.
I added his contact and labelled it, Fuyu ❄.
'Alrighty, bye bye Fuyu, see you tomorrow!'
'Bye...Haru, see you.'
We parted our separate ways, I arrived at home and leapt into my bed.
I cuddled my pillow.
'Today was so exhausting,' I said mumbling to myself. I looked outside the window to find Fuyu's window. Spying on him, he was there at his desk, writing into what looked like a journal. I squished my face against the window to look closer. Suddenly, he slammed the journal shut. 'He probably wrote something embarrassing and stopped himself from continuing. Typical Fuyu.' I thought teasingly.
