Rohit sat with his thoughts late into the night, his mind racing with concern. The memory of that cryptic note haunted him—the one that had warned him about his loved ones being in danger. He had barely managed to save Rahul and Athiya from an accident, than shubhman, ishaan and rishabh but his heart still felt uneasy. Who could be behind this? Who was trying to harm his family?
It was in the stillness of the night that a terrifying realization struck him—the next targets. His thoughts instantly went to Jassi and Harry, his first kiddos. He may have been upset with them, angry at their lack of trust during the accusation, but if anything ever happened to them...
He could burn the whole world down.
Rohit sprang up from the couch, his heart racing as he rushed to check on Jassi and Harry. With every hurried step, his pulse quickened. He barged into their room, scanning the dark space, but found them peacefully asleep. His breath slowed, but only slightly. He spent the entire day keeping a close eye on them, staying alert for any sign of danger. Luckily, nothing serious happened, and as the sun set, Rohit allowed himself to feel a sliver of relief. But the unease never fully left him.
Rohit was still fast asleep when Jassi and Harry, quietly stirring awake, shared a determined glance. They had decided to surprise their bhaiya with something special. They both knew they needed to apologize to him properly—to make amends for their mistakes, for not trusting him when he needed them the most. They wanted to earn his forgiveness, to make things right.
But they needed to go out to get the things for their surprise.
Sneaking out of the room, they found Ritika in the kitchen, brewing her morning tea. Jassi, being the more talkative one, grinned as he approached her.
"Bhabhi, Harry and I are going out to the market for a bit. We want to do something special for Ro Bhaiya," Jassi said with excitement.
Ritika, preoccupied with her tea, nodded absently, assuming it was nothing urgent. "Be careful," she mumbled, still not fully awake, but trusting them enough not to ask for details.
With her quiet blessing, the two slipped out of the house, hoping to return with something that would melt Rohit's heart.
A sudden sharp noise woke Rohit from his sleep. He flinched, his heart racing as something hit the window. Rubbing his eyes, he got up to see what it was. His heart sank when he saw a stone lying outside. Tied to it was a small piece of paper fluttering in the wind. His hands trembled as he bent down to pick it up.
The note read:
"How long will you protect the two apples of your eyes?"
Rohit's blood ran cold. His heart skipped a beat as his mind pieced it together—Jassi and Harry. His first kiddos. The message was clear. Panic surged through his body as he bolted toward their room, praying they were still safe.
But the room was empty.
Frantic, Rohit rushedx through the hallways until he found Ritika in the kitchen. "Where are they?" he demanded, breathless.
"Who?" she asked, slightly startled by his tone.
"Jassi and Harry! Where are they?"
"Oh, they went out... something about getting something special for you," she said casually, not fully grasping the urgency in his voice.
The color drained from Rohit's face. Out? His heart hammered in his chest as he dashed toward the door.
"I have to find them," he muttered under his breath, his mind racing through all the terrible possibilities. The cryptic message. The threats. The narrow escapes. What if this time, he wasn't on time?
Meanwhile, Jassi and Harry were strolling through the market, talking animatedly about the perfect surprise for their Rohit bhaiya. They had been feeling guilty for how things had been between them. Today was their day to make things right.
"Jassi, you think Bhaiya will forgive us after this?" Harry asked, his voice a mix of hope and nerves.
Jassi gave him a sideways smile, though uncertainty flickered in his eyes. "He has to. We've been his kids forever, Harry. Bhaiya's got a big heart."
They reached a small shop and began picking out some gifts, unaware of the eyes watching them from the shadows.
Suddenly, Harry paused, glancing around. "Hey, Jassi... do you feel like someone's watching us?"
Jassi frowned and looked around too. "Nah, don't overthink it. Let's just hurry and get this stuff so we can—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a screeching sound echoed through the street. They turned in time to see a large truck speeding directly toward them, swerving wildly as if out of control.
Harry's eyes widened in horror. "Jassi, move! Move!"
But the street was narrow, and there was no time. The truck was bearing down on them too fast. Just as the panic set in and they froze, a familiar voice yelled, "JASSI! HARRY!"
It was Rohit.
Out of nowhere, Rohit appeared, his car screeching to a halt as he flung open the door and bolted toward his kiddos. Without a second to lose, he grabbed both of them by their arms, pulling them into the safety of a nearby alley just as the truck rammed into the stand they had been standing near. The noise of the crash was deafening, and debris scattered everywhere.
Rohit held them tightly, his heart pounding so loud he could barely hear anything else. Jassi and Harry were trembling, barely able to comprehend what had just happened.
Jassi, still shaken, stammered, "Bhaiya... y-you... you saved us."
Rohit's chest heaved with the weight of relief and anger. "Are you both insane?! Why didn't you tell me you were going out?!"
Harry clung to him, his voice shaky, "We just wanted to surprise you, Bhaiya. We didn't know..."
"Surprise me?!" Rohit's voice cracked, a mix of frustration and fear. "Don't you understand how dangerous it's been? Something like this..." His voice trailed off as he pulled them both into a tight hug, his voice trembling, "I can't lose you both. I don't care how angry or upset I am... You're still my kids."
Jassi, still dazed, looked up at Rohit with guilt clouding his face. "Bhaiya, we're so sorry. For everything. We didn't trust you when we should have, and we've been awful. We've been trying to make it up to you, but..."
Rohit shook his head, his heart softening despite the chaos around them. "Nothing matters anymore. You're both safe, and that's all I care about."
Tears welled up in Harry's eyes. "Bhaiya, we were wrong to doubt you. I never stopped caring, but... I don't know, we got lost in our own mess. Please, forgive us."
Jassi nodded, wiping away a stray tear. "We can't lose you, Bhaiya. We love you."
Rohit, his heart swelling with emotion, pulled them closer. "I'll always protect you both, no matter what happens. But don't do something reckless like this again, okay?"
They nodded, their relief palpable.
Just then, Ritika arrived, having heard the commotion from a distance. She ran over, her face pale with fear. "Rohit! Are they okay?!"
Rohit nodded, still holding them tightly. "Yeah, they're fine. But this was no coincidence."
Ritika glanced at him, realizing that something far deeper was at play. "What do you mean?"
Rohit took a deep breath, still reeling from the close call. "I've been receiving threats for days now... and they're getting closer. Whoever is doing this... they're targeting the people I love."
Jassi and Harry exchanged worried looks, finally realizing the gravity of the situation.
"But you don't have to face this alone," Jassi said, his voice filled with determination. "We'll stick together, Bhaiya. No matter what."
Rohit looked at them, his heart filled with pride and love. "We'll get through this... together."
And with that, they stood united once again, the bond between them stronger than ever as they prepared to face whatever danger lay ahead.
