My name is Beth and I'm not like other girls. I don't like Taylor Swift or whatever they listen to. I wake up on a cold morning of September. It's my first day at this new school and I don't know anyone! I go to the bathroom to wash my face and my teeth. I stare into my blue orbs as I tie my dark chocolate hair into a messy bun. I throw on some random clothes on the chair from last day and go downstairs, where I see my mom cooking breakfast.
"Good morning, Betty!" She says.
"Hey mom," I reply, "I'm so anxious for today. I know I'm gonna get bullied so much!"
She flipped the pancakes from the pan and put them on the plate before spraying some syrup on them. "Don't be pessimistic, I'm sure you'll immediately stick out. After all, you're not like other girls."
"Thank god." I add.
"You know, you could use some make-up today! You can look nice and make a good first impression."
"Nah, I don't like wearing it." I say as I take a bite of the pancakes. "They're really good!"
"Thank you."

I'm now at the bus stop, waiting among other people. There was a girl with dark hair sitting across the bench, looking at her phone. She was probably texting someone. She then put it in her bag and looked at me.
"You're new here."
"Uh... yeah. Just moved in."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Vivienne."
"I'm Elizabeth. Well, Beth for short."
"Okay Beth, where do you come from?"
"Uh, some random little city in Oregon, nothing much."
"My grandpa's from Oregon!"
"That's... cool."
The bus arrived. We got in and I sat in the back, she followed me.
"So, can I know more about you?"
