Oakley Crouch reclined on her bed, the soft fabric of her school robes brushing against her legs, while her boyfriend, Regulus Black, lounged beside her, his fingers absently twisting a small lock of her hair. Evan Rosier and Alecto Carrow were sprawled on the floor, playing a game of truth or dare, while Barty Crouch Jr.—paced impatiently, clearly eager to reveal a momentous secret.
"Honestly, Barty," Alecto snapped, "for someone who can't seem to sit still, you're taking an awful long time to get to the point."
"Yeah," Evan added, glancing at the clock, "we don't have all day to wait on your dramatic buildup."
Regulus offered a smirk, looking down at Oakley, whose bright eyes sparkled with anticipation. "What's got your knickers in a twist?"

"I met him" Barty leaned forward, his voice lowering conspiratorially, "It was like nothing I've ever felt before. He's more powerful than anything we've imagined. He always knows when you're lying or hiding something... it's like he's reading your very soul."
The others leaned in closer, their interest piqued as they exchanged glances. Regulus kept his expression neutral, though a flicker of concern danced behind his icy blue eyes.
"He is planning something big, something that could change everything. And," he paused for dramatic effect, "he wants to expand the ranks. He wants us."
The room fell silent, the gravity of Barty's statement settling over the group like a cold breeze. Alecto broke the silence first, tilting her head. "What do you mean, us?"

"He asked for you specifically Oakley. He sees something special in you."
The room fell silent, the air thickening as every gaze fell on her. "What do you mean?" Oakley asked, her tone careful, her brows furrowing.
"Power," he replied, leaning back and crossing his arms as if reveling in the concoction of disbelief and fear he'd stirred. "An innate ability. You've always been unpredictable, and he senses something in that. Something unheard of."

"Being a part of his inner circle would mean we could rid the wizarding world of Mudbloods and traitors once and for all." Alecto's voice dripped with contempt, revelling in the thought. "We deserve to be respected, to reclaim our heritage."
Regulus nodded thoughtfully, his gaze distant. The euphoria of joining the Death Eaters sang enticing notes to him, but a flicker of doubt washed over him. He couldn't ignore how his brother, Sirius, had turned his back on the family—and by extension, on everything they stood for.
"Are we sure about this?" he mumbled, barely audible above the confidence exuding from the rest.
"Doubt is weakness!" Alecto hissed, her eyes narrowing. "You don't have the luxury of second-guessing when others are ready to support our cause. The world needs to know that Slytherins don't fear darkness; we embrace it!"
"That's right," Barty grinned, glee etched across his features. "What's a little treachery for the greater good? Imagine the power we'll have, the influence. We'll be unstoppable."

Oakley leaned in, her voice laced with reckless abandon "I'm in! I want the mark!"
Evan followed suit, his eyes alight with ambition, "Count me in too. Someone needs to do it right."
"You already know my answer" Alecto grinned. They all turned to Regulus who looks deep in thought
"Fine, I'm in if Oakley is."
One by one the group smirked at each other all ready for the next step.

"There's a meeting once we return home for the holidays at the Malfoys" barty told them. "Oakley, mum and dad can't know"
