Heavily inspired from a snippet written by Lonely Musings part two I think.

Yuvi was the one who caught sight of him first before anyone else, before the man himself caught sight of them. He had been having a regular meet up with his friends, Zak, Ashish, Bhajji- the old gang or most of it atleast. It had been a pleasant day, as it often was in Goa. The sun had shined brightly but not harshly, the breeze had been just right, the food had been amazing so far. And above all there were his boys, his buddies, his entire childhood and adulthood; in his company. So yes, it had been a wonderful day and it had been going to be a wonderful evening, a late and colorful one for which their respective wives would have later scolded them for. Atleast that had been Yuvraj's plan.
And then the man had waltzed into the resort's restaurant.
The one and only Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Bhajji had been telling an outlandish stupid story of something that had probably never happened but with such conviction that Yuvraj had almost wanted to believe him. Sometime during the exaggerated eye-rolls and school boy giggles, his gaze had flitted over to the entrance and there he had been, walking in; deep in conversation with his wife. Or a one-sided conversation at least. It looked like Sakshi was again saying something that was exasperating Mahi. He had seen the couple grow over the years, from friends, to something that had an unspoken intimacy to marriage and kids. Somehow throughout it, while Mahi himself had changed, his relationship with Sakshi had not. He almost smiled before he caught himself and tried to dispel the unexpected warmth that was spreading at the sight.
The sight that next followed helped a lot in that regard. A small group of people followed his old friend into the resort, Mahi had obviously come with a group... a group of friends. His mouth soured though he knew it had no right to. Mahi deserved to have his friend groups, ofcourse he did. Except that once upon a time Yuvraj had thought he belonged in them... any one of them. But he had not, not then and not now.
"Oi!"
Yuvi snapped back to his friends, they had noticed his sudden silence. Ofcourse they had.
"What world is this? Is Yuvraj Singh actually lost in his head?" Ashu cackled
"It is possible to be lost in an empty space?" Zak quipped raising his eyebrow before trying to follow where his gaze had been, "What wer- is that MS?"
Yuvi wished Zak hadn't seen him. There was something about Mahi which had for some time now always turned his mood off. Something he wasn't smart enough to figure out on his own but something he was unwilling to tell other people. It slipped out of him some, he knew as much. And he didn't want it to slip out infront of Mahi of all people. His reaction or rather the lack of it, would only stir the cesspool buried in his chest, and he would rather not. He would really rather not.
But now Zak had seen him. And Zak, unlike him, had no such tangled mess of feelings regarding their teammate-friend-colleague or whatever the hell Mahi was to them now. Zak was always sorted, unproblematic unlike stupid old Yuvi. And hence Zak the wise had immediately waved, a genuinely pleased expression on his face, "Hey MS! Over here man!"
