This genuinely shocked people. Todoroki was never usually the one who initiated fights. At least, not between him and Bakugo, anyway.

“And why exactly do you think we should do that?” Aizawa frowned.

“Because I want to test exactly how strong I am against him.”

“You can do that with your teachers.”

“That's different. I already know their moves. Plus, they hold back.”

“And your point being, you want to fight someone who is the closest to being an unknown fighter as possible?”

“Not just that. I just wanted to see how much I measured with him right here. Plus,” Todoroki elaborated and turned to Bakugo, “I hear he has much to say about me in particular.”

“That's not really up for me to decide, but…” Whenever the class was in Gym Gamma, the sort of activities that they're involved in are ones that help develop their quirks further by matching them up against teachers.

This reminded him of the conversation he had with Nezu last week, just after Bakugo's outburst.

“And if somehow a confrontation between them occured?” Aizawa asked as a precaution.

“Elaborate.” Nezu stood after having emptied his cup of tea.

“I'm saying, hypothetically, if a fight somehow ensues...”

“Then that's great!”

“What?” he blurted. The surprise of it got to him faster than he could hold himself back in front of the principal.

Nezu’s smile brightened up a bit of the gloom that Aizawa naturally brings around him. Sparkles were even visible around his face. That, or it's just Aizawa’s recendt dehydration kicking in.

“That means we get to learn more about him and the things he refused to tell us about, yes?”

Aizawa sighed. He expected enthusiasm, but not like this. “...And what of the safety of the students?”

“Oh, of course, it'll only be allowed when you are there. Fighting without your supervision will be strictly prohibited.”

“I see.”

Aizawa took this into deep consideration, afterwards, he too looked at the man leaning quietly on the wall next to the door. “Well, Bakugo, what do you think?”

Bakugo, who was listening the entire time, clicked his tongue. “You're one arrogant little brat, are you?”

Todoroki didn't say anything in response to that.

Bakugo walked close, bringing with him an aura of intimidation that even Todoroki did not expect. As the man walked close, it was as if his footsteps echoed in the corners of the room. His hands, which remained in his pockets, reminded the class of an unloaded gun. His face, which usually held a contorted smile or a hideous frown, showed a level of emptiness that announced to the rest of them just how lowly he thought of their skills and capabilities. “What makes you think you can go up against me?”

Todoroki, despite being in a bit of a shock, answered, “I don’t.”

His anger grew, “Cut the crap.”

“I just want to see my capabilities and their limits in comparison to you.”

“Bullshit.”

“Enough.” Aizawa intervened, “Bakugo, do you agree or not?”

Bakugo's eyes ominously gazed at Aizawa for a second or two before they glared back at Todoroki as if he was a mere boy. “I don't see why not.”
