I know I already made a Jeverous chapter. But I don't really care. This is my book, deal with it. Also, trigger warning: abuse.

This is also a story of: "what if Severus, Lily and James were friends before Hogwarts?"

Our first ride to Hogwarts, god it felt like yesterday! Severus thought as he and his friends brought up the topic of memories.

"Do you remember how we met?" James asked, looking sentimental and excited, smiling.

"Yeah, it was adorable!" Lily answered.

"I don't know how you two can be excited about that memory, my life started to go downhill from there." Severus said sarcastically. Rolling his eyes.

"Oh Sev, you can't even try to lie like that." Lily said, also rolling her eyes.

"Yeah no, if you hadn't met us, your ass would be lonely, sad and miserable." James stated. He might not have been with his friends too much since they started school, but he made it a point that every train ride was with them. He loved them, that made it something special.

"Hey, I'm not the one who made me a slytherin meaning I was abandoned by my supposed best friends." Severus held his hands up in defence.

"Hey, we didn't abandon you!" Lily shrieked.

"No? How come? I haven't seen you two last year at all, maybe in class, but outside of it? You two absolutely ghosted me."

"Yeah, maybe that's true..." James said, guilt and sadness were present.

"Hey don't feel guilty, I get it, I also have friends outside of you two." Severus laughed silently.

"Okay, well no sadness on the train! Anyway, the first time we met, I thought you two might actually fight each other!" Lily laughed recalling the memory of the two boys in front of her, being cute and arguing.

The 9 year olds were all at the playground. James was there with his grandparents, who wanted him to experience the muggle life, Lily was there with her parents and her sister, because well, Petunia wouldn't stop crying if they didn't go. Severus was there alone. Trying to escape the yelling of his house, he didn't escape yelling, but this one was excited, coming from the other children.

"Hi, I'm James!" James stood before Severus, who was silently picking up rocks and sorting them into piles of different colours and sizes.

"Um, Hi?" Severus wasn't used to talking to other people, much less other kids.

"Well, What's your name?" James asked, still smiling and excited. He wanted to make a friend who wasn't a wizard, those were boring most of the time.

"I'm Severus." Severus answered quickly. He wasn't sure what to do.

"Well, Severus. You're now my friend." James was determined. He didn't know what intrigued him enough to talk to Severus, but it did and he wasn't letting him get away easily. Severus was confused.

"Why?" His thoughts didn't think of why he shouldn't say that. His dad told him many times that if anyone ever comes close to him, he should be asking himself why, because he sure as fuck wasn't someone, anyone would ever like.

"What do you mean why? I just want to." James answered, laughing a little at the strange boy.

"My dad says no one will like me, friends are supposed to like each other." Severus said back. This made James upset. He didn't know why. It just did.

"Well your dad's wrong. I like you." James answered.

"There are a lot of better people to like James." Severus answered.
