"Who's Chloe" I ask once we reach Lynn's house after walking in silence."she's no one don't worry" she replies almost hiding her face from me. "Well usually no body's don't know your name and don't specifically say who they are after a text and they don't make you look like you've shit yourself" I say before looking in front of me to a tsunami of kids all ages and all talents coming toward me. "WHO ARE YOU" a cool rockstar looking girl yells from the back of the crowd. "EVERYBODY QUIET" Lynn yells, it kinda makes me blush a little if I'm honest but I hide it. "Hi I'm Ari" I introduce myself before Lynn drags me upstairs to what seems to be her room and another girls who likes coffins and death by the looks of it.
"Dude you can't speak to them or they will think your their best friend and they won't leave you alone and I can't have anyone stealing my friend" she says using her hands to talk a lot. That something I find cute about her she always uses her hands to talk. Wait "your friend?" I slightly question "over protective much" I say rolling my eyes and crossing my arms sarcastically. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean it that way was that weird I'm sorry" she rambles on as I just watch her in awe about how much she cares for her reputation. "It's fine Lynn I was joking I love when people are over protective it makes me feel safe" I say calmly.
It's been about an hour of scrolling on TikTok when we hear Lynn sr yell "DINNERS READY" both of us look at each other as she puts her hand out to say stop and we wait for what it is. "IVE MADE LYNNSAGNA" he yells approximately five seconds later. We both jump up starving from eating so little during school. After I sit down next to Lynn the rockstar sits next to me and a princess looking girl sits across Fr, me and stares at me intensely the whole dinner.
After a lot of chatter, a lot of questions and a lot of lynnsagna it's time for showers. Lynn tells me I can take her spot in the shower line and hands me a massive red hoodie with a 1 on the back and some shorts. "Sorry if the shirts are too cold I don't own many long pants" she apologises scratching the back of her neck. "No your all good I prefer shorts over long pants to sleep in" I reply reassuring her. I take my shower and then Lynn goes right after me. I walk down the hall to her bedroom and I see so many cute baby photos of her. I sit there looking at all of them until the rockstar comes up to me. "Hey can you come with me real quick" she asks and pulls me to her room.
"What's your business with Lynn" she asks squinting her eyes. "Oh I just met her at the mall on Sunday and she wanted to be my friend so we are friends I guess" I reply sounding like I'm questioning her. "Yeah I know you met at the mall I was there, what do you plan on doing with her tonight" she asks again repeating the action she did earlier. "Oh well we were gonna watch a movie and play a game together" I say. "What movie" she asks still squinting her eyes until we both hear a raspy voice yell "LUNA DID YOU STEAL ARI" as she storms into the rockstars room. "Luna I told you to stop interrogating my friends I don't need your help" she says annoyed then grabs me by the hand to pull me to her room.
Once we get there she talks to me calmly and quietly "after showers it's bed time and bed time is chaotic in anywhere except this room because Lucy is usually in her coffin or the basement and I sort myself out everyone else needs to be put to bed or they won't sleep so just stay in here and stay quiet until your see the lights shut off". I look at her a bit confused then realise I can't compare my routines to hers I have two siblings and one of them is rarely at home. "Ok" I whisper wanting to laugh. She sees my smile and smiles trying not to laugh her Dimples being put on display.
Eventually after about an hour the lights shut off in the hall. "Ok now we gotta get downstairs and pick a movie" she whispers. She grabs my hand and intertwines our fingers giving me butterflies we sneak down the stairs and sit on the couch. "What movie" she says a bit louder because the only people who sleep on this floor are her parents and they sleep through anything. "Hmm legally blonde." I say with a smile. "Dude what is that" she says with a grossed face. "Ok you asked a basic movie taste girl for a movie" I say in defence. "Ok fine we can watch legally blonde"
After we finish that we decide to skip the board game because we are way too tired to handle that stuff right now. As we get to her room we see her phone lit up and buzzing. "Micheal" the phone reads it's from instagram of course. She answers it.
Lynn's pov
I answer the phone and hear that annoying girls voice " hi sweetheart thought you missed me so I used Micheal's account to call you, I just watched you all up the stairs but don't waste your time I'm walking away now" the annoying girl Chloe says. "Who is it" I hear Ari say. I just put one finger up to say give me one sec. "I don't know why your still so obsessed with me but you need to get over it, I'm not into you, I never will be you were a mistake and if you keep doing this I'm calling the cops" I say annoyed then I hang up the phone aggressively and block Micheal on everything. "Are you ok" I hear Ari's soothing voice hit my ears. "Yeah just sick and tired of that girl" I reply. "What girl?" She questions sounding concerned. "You don't need to worry here let's get some sleep" I say patting the bed that I'm sitting on. She lays down next to me and I turn around to lay down too.
About ten minutes pass and I hear her voice again "can we cuddle it just makes me feel safer when I don't have my teddy" she asks. "You still have a teddy, me too!" I pull out a raggedy beat up near to piece of string that looks like it's been through both world wars. I put it in the bed side table and laugh "yeah come here" with open arms. She jumps into my arms and swings a leg over me and falls asleep almost instantly. After a few minutes I fall asleep knowing this can't last forever.
