Just Like Magic — Ariana Grande

I opened my eyes slowly, a wave of shock rippling through my body as they opened without that heavy—still sleepy feeling.

Everything felt weightless—like I was floating, barely tethered to reality.

Am I dead?

I sat up in bed, but the moment I did, the blinding light streaming through the window forced my eyes shut. Strangely, I couldn't even be annoyed.

I felt... amazing.

Refreshed, like I'd woken up from the best sleep of my life.

No blaring alarm jolting me awake.

No panic about looming deadlines or the weight of student debt crushing me.

No endless texts from a certain blonde blowing up my phone.

This was different. I woke up light as a feather as if every care had slipped away overnight.

If one-night stands had my body waking up so... comfortably then...

I could get used to this.

Shielding my eyes with a hand, I squinted against the sun's relentless rays, slowly starting to take in my surroundings.

As the memories of last night hit me in vivid bursts, I drew in a slow, deep breath.

Damn, we really went at it.

Nine times. I came nine times in one night.

nine!

Unreal. She was unreal. She took me to places I didn't even know I could reach.

I could barely even recognize who I was last night.

Pulling the blanket off, I slid out of bed and stood, shivering slightly as my bare feet met the cold floor.

Wobbling to the window, I yanked the blinds closed, cutting off the invading sunlight.

I cleared my throat as I turned back toward the bed, but something on the dresser caught my eye—a folded piece of paper tucked under the alarm clock.

My brows furrowed. When did I put that there?

I couldn't remember.

I was too busy getting my pussy beat.

With a sigh, I picked up the paper, curiosity tugging at the edges of my mind.

Call me if you ever need some tending to. >3<

- Love, stranger.

I roll my eyes with a chuckle.

and she thinks I'm something...

I sighed as I stepped out of the shower, feeling even more refreshed than when I woke up. The hot water melted away all the knots and tension I built up last night.

Wrapping a towel snugly around my body, I walked into my bedroom, leaving the bathroom door open to let the steam escape.

My eyes drifted to the piece of paper on my desk. Curious, I walked over, picked it up, and sat down on the bed. I grabbed my phone to check the time—or at least, I tried to.

"Fuck," I muttered, staring at the dead battery icon flashing back at me.

I tossed the paper aside and set my phone on the charger next to it.
