Chapter 16 : Love fruit

Anne Pov :

Me and Xavier throughout the ride were looking at each other.  None of us spoke a single word .
Soon we reached the station , we were separated as soon as we reached. Both of us were put into different rooms for investigation.  I've never been here before , it's a room with no windows just walls.
After waiting for hours , Mr.Hills enters with a file
"Hello Anne , this is the first time we are meeting right?" he asks me . I nod , I don't have the courage to speak right now. "It won't be the last time and I want words , clear words Anne" he says in a warning tone.
"Y...y..yes" I shutter a little .

"Xavier's investigation is done , so now it's your turn . A little advice to you don't lie , whatever the truth is just say it " Mr.Hill looks at me and says , he puts a recorder on the table and turns it on .
"This interrogation is being recorded for evidence proof , the prime suspect number 2 is Anne Bronte"
He continues ," So Let's start with an easy question,
What's your name ?" He ask

The investigation goes on.
Anne : My name is Anne Bronte , I don't have a middle name because I am an orphan .

Mr. Hill : Okay , Were you the one who called today to report about Frank Nolen's body?

Anne : Yes , I was going to work and I saw him hanging so I called 911.

Mr. Hill : Why did you leave when the police arrived?

Anne : I work as a delivery person , I get paid as I deliver if there is any delay , a certain amount is deducted and I can't be late , I can't afford it .

Mr. Hill : Okay , have you met Frank Nolen before?

Anne : Yes

Mr. Hill : When ?

Anne : Me and Xavier met at the gate of the park . We met him there.

Mr. Hill : Is it true that Xavier threatened him ?

Anne : Yes he did.

Mr. Hill : Will you elaborate why Xavier threatened him ?

Anne : We were standing and talking , Frank came and started to harass me , he started to eve tease me and called me names , he wanted Xavier to leave me alone with him so he could rape me .

As I say these tears fall down remembering the night and kidnapping. Mr.Hill hands me a glass of water.

Mr.Hill : Okay continuing , So you agree that Xavier threatened him ?

Anne : Yes

Mr.Hill : Is there anything else that happened later that night?

Anne : n..n..noo
I take a glass of water and finish it in one go . Mr.Hill looks at me for a second and goes back at interrogation.

Mr.Hill : According to CCTV footage , after the fight the CCTV goes static , something you know about?

Anne : No

Mr.Hill : Okay , How was your relationship with Sam ? You know him right?

Anne : Yes I know Sam , we used to study in the same school. He .. he.. he was my Bully.

Mr.Hill : he bullied you ? For how long ?

Anne : Yes, he did Bully me since I started high school.

Mr.Hill : Did You report this bullying  to the higher Authority ?

I shake my head " No" I say

Mr.Hill : Why ?

Anne : I was scared . I am an orphan I don't have a family who looks after me. I have to think about the consequences of whatever I do .
