Ayaan sat at a small table in the corner, nervously checking his watch. He had been looking forward to this blind date with Nyla for weeks. The café was bustling with chatter and laughter, but all he could hear was the rhythmic pounding of his heart. Just as he was about to text her, the door swung open, and in walked a woman with a magnetic smile that seemed to light up the dim space.
“Is this seat taken?” Nyla asked, her voice melodic and inviting.
“No, not at all! I’m Ayaan,” he replied, standing up to shake her hand. “Nice to meet you, Nyla.”
“Nice to meet you too!” she grinned, her eyes sparkling. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long.”
“Not at all. I was just... lost in thought,” he said, trying to hide his nerves.
Nyla leaned forward, her gaze penetrating. “What were you thinking about?”
Ayaan hesitated for a moment. “I was thinking this feels like the beginning of a romantic story. You know? Two strangers meeting, the possibilities...”
“Wow, that’s sweet! I’d love to be a character in one of your stories, but please, don’t make me the tragic heroine,” she said with a playful smile.
“Deal! You’ll be the fierce heroine who saves the day,” he replied, feeling the tension ease.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, with Nyla recounting tales of her wild adventures in graphic design while Ayaan shared snippets of his writing journey. They laughed and flirted, the chemistry crackling between them like electricity.
Just as Ayaan was about to lean in closer, a sudden gust of wind swept through the café as the door flung open again. A figure in a shimmering white outfit entered, glowing like a beacon. The atmosphere shifted; warmth faded, replaced by an unsettling chill.
“Excuse me,” the figure said, their voice soothing yet authoritative. “I need to speak with Ayaan.”
Nyla raised an eyebrow, her playful demeanor morphing into concern. “Do you know them?”
Ayaan shook his head, bewildered. “No. Can I help you?”
The figure stepped closer, their expression calm and knowing. “I’m your guardian angel, Ayaan. I’ve come to warn you.”
Nyla crossed her arms, skepticism clouding her eyes. “This is a joke, right? You brought an actor to interrupt our date?”
“No joke,” the angel insisted, unfazed. “Ayaan, your heart is in danger. Nyla is not who she seems.”
“What?” Ayaan’s pulse quickened. “What do you mean?”
Nyla scoffed, clearly annoyed. “This is ridiculous. I came here for a date, not an interrogation.”
“Ayaan, trust me,” the figure implored, eyes locked on his. “You need to ask her about the symbol.”
Ayaan felt his heart race. “What symbol?”
