Chapter 25

AFTER THREE weeks Stella regains consciousness, she finds herself in a sterile hospital room. Blinking against the harsh lights, she tries to move, but pain shoots through her body. Panic sets in as she realizes she's alone. A nurse enters, noticing her awake.

"You're safe now. You were in an accident, but we're taking care of you."

Stella's heart races as she recalls the moments before the accident. Desperate to know about Eli, she tries to sit up.

"Where's Eli? I need to see him!" She asked frantically

Nurse frowns, placing a gentle hand on Stella's shoulder.

"You need to rest. You're on life support, and we're monitoring you closely."

Stella's eyes widen in realization, fear flooding her. She struggles to remember what happened, her mind racing with questions.

She drifts in and out of consciousness, the beeping of the machines surrounding her a constant reminder of her precarious situation. She feels weak but determined to fight for herself and her baby.

Moments later, her parents enter, their faces etched with worry. Stella feels a rush of mixed emotions—anger at their earlier rejection, but also a desperate need for their support.

"Mom... Dad..." She called her parents weakly.

They rush to her side, Helen taking her hand gently, tears spilling down her cheeks.

"We're so sorry, Mia. We should have listened to you." Her mother is sobbing.

Her father —Fernando stands back, wrestling with his emotions, finally stepping forward.

"We didn't realize how serious this was. We love you, and we want to help you through this."

Stella gazes at them, feeling the weight of their words, but still consumed by fear.

"I need Eli. Please... I can't do this without him." Her voice was trembling.

Ther mother looks at her father, who nods, understanding the importance of support in this moment.

"He's outside.. we'll call him, sweetheart. Just hold on."

After a few minutes, Elijiah step in, looking worn, still drenched with his clothes but relieved to see Stella awake. As he enters the room, Stella's face lights up, and she struggles to sit up.

"Eli" She called joyfully.

Elijiah rushes to her side, his eyes brimming with tears as he takes her hands in his.

I was so scared. I thought I lost you." He said choked with emotion.

As Elijiah kneels beside Stella's hospital bed, the tension in the room dissipates, replaced by an overwhelming sense of relief and love. Stella gazes into his eyes, her heart swelling with gratitude for having him by her side.

"I'm so glad you're here. I missed you so much." She whispered.

Ejiah brushes a strand of hair from her forehead, his touch gentle and tender.

"I missed you too. I've been praying for you every single day."

Suddenly, Stella's expression grows serious as she remembers their situation.

"Eli, the accident... the baby. What if something happened to the baby?"

Elijiah face darkens with concern, and he glances at her parents, who stand a few feet away, watching the scene unfold. He turns back to Stella, his voice steady.

"The doctors said you're stable, and they're monitoring everything closely. I know it's scary, but we'll get through this together." He said reassuringly.
