It was a normal sunny morning, with the sun casting a warm glow over the quiet streets and soft breezes rustling the leaves.

Selina adjusted the straps of her backpack as she walked beside her best friend, Mia, chatting about the latest gossip from school. The air was fresh, filled with the promise of an ordinary, uneventful day.

"I swear, Mrs. Hawkins is going to snap if Jamie keeps pulling stunts in class," Mia said with a laugh, swinging her backpack over her shoulder.

Selina grinned, brushing a lock of hair from her face. "He's a lost cause. One more prank, and she'll probably ban him from the science lab for life."

The girls laughed synonymously, enjoying the calmness of the moment. But as they reached the halfway point to school, something subtle happened.

The pavement beneath their feet trembled slightly at first, like the distant rumble of thunder, making them freeze in their position.

"Did you feel that?" Mia asked, eyes widened, voice laced with uncertainty.

Selina slowly nodded, afraid to exaggerate her move. "I'm not sure, but I think... so? Or maybe it was just—"

Before she could finish, the trembling intensified, shaking the ground beneath them violently. Streetlights wobbled, and the concrete cracked with a sharp snap. Panic swept through the streets as people shouted, trying to steady themselves.

Then, it happened.

With a deafening roar, the pavement split open beneath Selina and Mia's feet. Cracks spread like lightning bolts, jagged and unstoppable. Selina tried to grab Mia's hand, but the ground collapsed way too quickly.

"Selina!" Mia screamed, her voice echoing in the chaos.

Selina's stomach lurched as the ground crumbled beneath her. She felt herself falling, tumbling into the gaping pit along with others caught in the collapse. Her heart raced, and her mind struggled to process what was happening.

This can't be real. This can't be real.

She plummeted into darkness, surrounded by dust and the terrified screams of people falling alongside her. There was no way to stop the descent, no handholds or ledges to grasp. It was as if gravity had betrayed her, dragging her into a void without mercy.

The air roared past her ears as she spun helplessly. Time slowed in the darkness, every second stretching into eternity.

Selina clenched her eyes shut, bracing herself for the inevitable impact. She felt Mia's scream fading somewhere above her, heard the sounds of debris falling—shattering glass, collapsing concrete—and then silence.

This is the end, she thought, a cold weight settled in her chest.
This is where it ends.

And then...

Light.

A soft, warm light surrounded her, like the glow of morning sunlight breaking through thick curtains. It wasn't harsh or blinding but gentle, as if it had been waiting to catch her. The sensation was strange, as though she were floating, weightless and suspended between worlds.

Selina cautiously opened her eyes, her breath hitching in her throat.

She lay on her back, staring up at a sky that was unlike any she had ever seen. The colors swirled together in a mesmerizing display—lavender clouds drifted lazily through a turquoise sky, and streams of gold shimmered in the air like dust particles caught in sunlight.

Her hands brushed soft grass beneath her. It felt cool and comforting against her skin, as though it had been waiting just for her.

Selina sat up slowly, blinking in disbelief. All things around her were strange, glowing flowers that seemed to hum faintly, as if alive. They pulsed with soft blue and pink light, swaying gently despite the absence of the wind.

In the distance, she saw people—figures soaring through the sky like birds, others moving so fast to the point where they looked just a little more than blurs. There's people with shimmering wings floated gracefully above a lake, her wings reflecting the strange sky. And a boy vanished into thin air and reappeared a moment later on a nearby hill.

Selina rubbed her eyes, certain she must be dreaming. But the colors didn't fade, and the grass beneath her didn't disappear. Everything was real.

Her heart pounded in her chest. "Where... Where am I?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

She scanned her surroundings frantically, hoping to see Mia—or anyone familiar. But there was no sign of her friend. No sign of anyone she knew. She was alone.

Selina climbed to her feet, brushing grass off her clothes. A knot of fear tightened in her chest, but she forced herself to stay calm. Panicking wouldn't help her figure out what had happened or where she was.

She took a few cautious steps forward, drawn toward the glowing flowers and the distant figures with supernatural abilities. As she approached, she noticed something peculiar: everyone she saw seemed unique, as if each person was born with a gift tailored just for them.

One man extended his hand, and a swirl of water rose from the lake, forming intricate shapes in the air. Another ran past Selina in a blur, her speed leaving a gust of wind in her wake. Now there's two figures on a nearby hill disappeared and reappeared repeatedly, teleporting with ease.

She touched her forehead, baffled. Why was she here? How had she fallen into this strange world?

Her thoughts turned to Mia and the others. Were they here too? Had they fallen into the same world, or had they ended up somewhere else entirely?

Selina took a deep breath and forced herself to think. There had to be answers somewhere, and she's determined to find it out.

To do so, she ventured further into the strange new world she's in. The glowing landscape stretched before her, filled with people who moved with ease and confidence, as if the supernatural was as ordinary to them as breathing.

But Selina was an outsider—a girl without a Talent, lost in a world where everyone seemed to belong.

She wanted to know why she had been brought here and whether there was any way back.

But as she walked further into the vibrant unknown, a strange feeling settled over her.

It was about discovering who she truly was—and what she was capable of becoming in a world where abilities defined everything.

And she had a feeling that whatever awaited her... it was only the beginning.
