Losing me

feeling terrible

The next morning Alex and Nyre wake up to find themselves staring at each other, their eyes never leaving.
"G- good morning Alex, did you sleep well"?
"Yes Nyre, what about you"?
"It was okay".
Nyre pauses for a moment, facing away with a soft blush on her cheeks. Realizing she had deep feelings for Alex, even though she knew they've met only a few days ago.
"A- Alex can I tell you something"?
"Of course Nyre, what is it"?
"You promise you won't laugh".
"I promise".
Nyre sits there on the bed in silence for a moment scared you might laugh at what she might have to say, but turns and opens her mouth to speak.
"I like you a lot Alex, I know it's only been a few days and you might not feel the same but..." Nyre pauses for a moment before continuing. "I really, really like you and was wondering what you think of me"?
"Well i feel the same".
"Y- you do"?
Alex nods his head in approval.
"Yes I like you as well, quite a lot in fact".
"Good because if you didn't, I would feel terrible".
"You would feel terrible"?
"Not in a bad way, like an embarrassing way".
Nyre looks away from Alex her face flushed with embarrassment... Alex notices the blush emanating from Nyre's cheeks but decides to stay silent, a sly grin forming against his face.
Alex wants to move to Nyre wanting to kiss her after their confessions have been said, but he knows he can't and that makes him feel terrible.
"Oh Nyre I wish I could kiss you, but I can't"
"I wish the same, but we can't. Not until I get better".
Alex nods his head and sits back in his chair the sun barely rising.
The sun hits the surface rising, making the sky a beautiful pink and orange color.
The colors of the sky emanate through the window onto both Alex and Nyre's faces, a beautiful glow in Alex's eyes.
"Your eyes are very pretty in the sun".
Nyre grabs her mouth, and looks away surprised she said that out loud.
"Hey, don't look away".
Nyre looks back surprised by what Alex had just said, but somewhat confused.
"Alex"!!!
"I like when you give me compliments, so don't look away".
Nyre blushes a deep shade of red, trying so hard to keep contact with Alex but is failing miserably as she looks down at her hands. She is suprised to hear no laughter from Alex as she rubs her soft delicate hands together.
"Don't be nervous darling". Alex says sweetly.
Nyre looks up with a loving gaze, tears feeling her eyes.
"Woah, hey its gonna be okay... Don't cry".
"I love you so much Alex you have no idea"!!!
"I love you too but please don't cry".
Alex and Nyre sit there in silence for a long while, Nyre was still so sad she couldn't be in Alex's warm loving embrace... She wanted to be with him so badly she even cried for him, but unfortunately she doesn't get that privilege.
As Alex and Nyre sit there in occupant silence, they could hear each others hearts beat in sync with each other.
"Sorry to barge in here as you guys were having a moment... But its time to give this pretty lady another scan". A nurse says
"I understand".
Alex stands up and leaves the room, and goes to the vending machine and purchases a bottle of banana milk.
He sits in a nearby chair waiting and waiting for you to be done with your scan but it was taking longer than he anticipated.
As Nyre leaves the room awhile after Alex had left she follows the nurse to the scanning room, there she hops onto the table where she would be scanned.
"Alright hun were just giving you a quick scan and seeing if everything is functioning properly" The nurse says.
Nyre nods, letting the nurses and doctors feel and scan her body.
As the doctors pull away she relaxes a bit more.
"Everything looks good, you will be starting your chemo therapy tomorrow. So dont be to scared and just relax".
"Will there be any side effects of me doing chemo"?
"There is a couple, for the first side effect of chemo therapy is you will lose your hair, you will maybe feel tired or exhausted more then you usually do, and just feel not yourself. Those are the few side effects, the good and the bad things are though is this can make you get better, or you could get worse".
"I see thank you doctor".
The doctor leaves the room leaving Nyre by herself, she gets off the scanning table and decides to walk around pulling her IV bag along side her.
"This hospital is a lot bigger then I anticipated".
Nyre continues to walk around not noticing how late it is, she walks a bit farther till she sees a nearby clock saying it is 11:32 at night.
"It's so late, I should head back to my room".
As Nyre walks most of the way back she sees Alex sitting out in the hall in one of the chairs in a deep sleep.
She walks slowly to him standing five feet away noticing he had something in his hand.
"Banana milk hmm" Nyre whispered.
She crouches on the ground folding her arms on her knees, staring at Alex's gentle sleeping face wondering whether to wake him or not.
"Maybe I should wake him, but I'll feel bad if I wake him" Nyre thought to herself.
Nyre sat there contimplating weather or not she should but eventually whispers.
"Alex you fell asleep out here, don't you want to sleep somewhere more comfortable".
Alex doesn't move and continues to sleep soundly.
"Alex"!
Alex still doesn't move, and Nyre's just leaves him to sleep to his hearts content, not wanting to deal with him.
She walks into the room and sleeps.
