Yuya and his counterparts had a very strong bond, even after they somehow ended up splitting up and getting their own bodies back. Nobody knew how it had happened, but it was obvious that each of the four boys was still very much attached to the others. And that attachment showed in some rather interesting ways.
For example, the Yuus did not like being away from each other for too long. Even sleeping in their own separate homes overnight was pushing it. So it didn't surprise Yuya at all when he would wake up at two in the morning to find that one or more of his counterparts had snuck into his house and were snuggled with him in his bed.
Yoko and Yusho, on the other hand, were always mystified that Yuto, Yuri, and Yugo managed to sneak into the house without alerting the pets. The dogs would bark if a car passed the house in the middle of the night, but somehow they weren't bothered by Yuya's counterparts breaking into the house to snuggle with Yuya.
"Maybe they smell like Yuya?" Yusho wondered aloud as he and his wife got ready for the day. All four of the Yuus were snuggled together in Yuya's bed right now, fast asleep.
"I mean, it is a possibility," Yoko agreed. "They share the same face, and the dogs never bark when Yuya's restless at night and goes out for a walk at two in the morning."
"I have noticed that," Yusho replied. "So maybe they think Yuto, Yuri, and Yugo are Yuya? I wonder if the pets even notice that they have different hair?"
"I mean, Core seems to notice the difference," Yoko pointed out. "But then again, he's an unusually smart cat. I swear he has the intelligence of a human, maybe even more!"
"It's a mystery we may never be able to solve," Yusho hummed. Yoko sighed, "I just wish they would let us adopt them. That way they would never have to worry about having a place to stay and wouldn't have to sneak into our house to snuggle with Yuya."
