Madison's POV
It was a quiet fall day. I was in my room with Iris my friend, and we were listening to music while talking. We were going to see Noah Kahan so we had his shuffle on.
Iris-"Madi, did you see the tiktok I sent you?"
Madison-"no? What TikTok?"
She pulled out her phone and showed me the video of someone when they were walking down the streets of NYC . I didn't notice anything so I shrugged.
Madison-"it's very pretty there but what's so special about it?"
She playfully hit me on the shoulder
Madison-"what the fuck was that for ?!"
Iris-"THE BILLBOARD? THE ARTIST!"
I looked closer and I saw a familiar face. No. Is that Gracie?
Madison-"shit, is that Gracie my ex?"
Iris-"she made it on billboards. Congratulate her dumbass"
Madison-"no, that's awkward Iris."
She groaned and pulled up instagram DMs and congratulated Gracie. I haven't seen her since we broke up. It wasn't the best break up but non the less I guess I'm still proud of her.
Iris-"she gonna think you don't care about it"
Madison-"because I really don't. I'm just an ex to her if she still even remembers me".
She scoffed.
Iris-"I'm gonna go. Thanks for having me babe."
Madison-"you're welcome anytime."
She walked out of my room and I went to Spotify to Gracie's discography. I saw she had 3 albums out. Good riddance, This is what it feels like and The secret of us.
I clicked on this is what it feels like and I heard her voice in the first time in what feels like ages.
The song was over and not gonna lie I enjoyed it. Her voice was just as I remember soft and gentle. I went to my ticket app to see if she had a tour going on. She had her own tour I smiled. I guess I'm proud than I realized. I clicked my location Seattle it was cheap $43 for one person.
Madison-"well. What do I have to lose."
I said to myself as I clicked purchase and brought the ticket. Her opener was Role model. I didn't know who they were so I looked up on Spotify and played his music. I enjoyed it a lot. I added some to my liked playlist.
I looked at the rack list for The Secret of us one song stuck out. Us (featuring-
Madison-"no is that Taylor swift? Surly not"
I hit play and then bridge came. I hear non other than Taylor swifts voice. I paused it and changed the music. The concert was tomorrow so I got Lucky I guess according to her fans on tiktok.

I was waiting in line for the tour and the doors opened finally. Everyone was rushing past and some skipping people in line. I showed my ticket and the guard let me in. I walked to barricade hopefully she wouldn't recognize me. I actually ended up loving role models music so I made a cowboy hat with his face on it.
( flashback to senior year)
Me and Gracie were cuddled up on the sofa watching a musical
Gracie-" hey babe, when I get big you'll come to my shows right?"
Madison-"what kind of silly question is that Gray. Of course I'll come to every show. Hell I'll join you on tour".
Gracie-"we don't even know if I'll make it to be someone's opener yet. Let alone my own tour"
I brushed my fingers along her cheek.
Madison-"you will babe. I know it. And when you do. I'll be front row watching"
End of flashback
I heard the beginning of one of Gracie's songs play and my hands started shaking with nerves. I saw her appear but she was behind doors. It wasn't till after she walked out. She was in a beautiful dress. She walked up to the mic stand and waved to some people next to me. Her gaze landed on me. Her eyes went wide she smiled though.
Gracie-"your here?"
She mouthed
Madison-"I promised didn't I?"
I said back. She smiled wider and played the first song. I leaned on the barricade and watched.
The concert was now over but Gracie came up to me as people were leaving around me.
Gracie-"Madi? Is it really you?"
Madison-"in the flesh Gray"
She pulled me on stage and we walked to her dressing room. She closed the door and turned to face me.
Gracie-"Madi how are you here?"
Madison-"I promised I'd be front row for your tour didn't I?"
Gracie-"you did. But I mean how'd you know?"
Madison-"yesterday my friend Iris showed me a video of someone walking through New York I didn't see anything at first till she pointed your album on the billboard out. Few hours later I listened to some songs and brought a ticket."
Gracie-"your insane Madi"
She pulled me in a hug and my head rested on her shoulder my arms around her waist.
Gracie-"I missed you so much Mads."
Madison-"I missed you to Gracie. I know we didn't end very well but I'm proud of you for how far you've come"
Gracie-" thank you. I just can't believe you're here. I never thought I'd see you again"
Madison-"me either. "
We sat on her couch to catch up and then go out for dinner and a drink.
