Y/N stood outside the tall building, arms crossed, her green eyes narrowed as she glared at the entrance. "I can't believe I'm wasting my day here," she muttered, her brown hair blowing slightly in the breeze.
"Come on, it's not that bad!" Calie, her overly cheerful friend, chirped beside her. She was practically bouncing on her feet, her excitement radiating. "You're going to love it, I swear."
Y/N shot her a murderous look. "I don't love anything about this. I had plans, Calie. Important plans. Like not being here."
Calie just laughed and patted her on the shoulder. "You're so dramatic. You'll survive."
Y/N rolled her eyes as they stepped into the lobby. The bright lights and the sterile atmosphere did nothing to improve her mood. As they approached the elevator, Y/N sighed loudly, glowering at Calie like she was considering throwing her out of the nearest window.
Calie noticed and smirked. "Will you stop looking at me like you want to kill me? People are going to think I dragged you here against your will."
"You did drag me here against my will," Y/N hissed, crossing her arms tighter. "This was supposed to be my day off."
"Yeah, yeah." Calie waved her off as the elevator doors opened. "You'll thank me later. Now behave yourself, will you?"
Y/N grumbled something under her breath about murder and pushed herself into the elevator. When the doors opened, they stepped into the studio space, a strong mix of perfumes and skincare products hitting Y/N's nose immediately. She wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Ugh, what is that smell? It's like a department store and a flower shop had an ugly baby."
Calie rolled her eyes as a woman approached them, a bright smile on her face. "Hi there! I'm Kate, I'll be helping you today."
Y/N raised an unimpressed eyebrow but responded flatly, "Y/N."
Before Kate could say anything, Calie jumped in. "Y/N's here to help out. She's got the perfect skin type you've been looking for."
Kate glanced at Y/N's face, nodding in approval. "Scarlett's going to be thrilled."
Y/N made a face. "Great, I can't wait to feel like a lab rat."
Kate chuckled lightly while Calie shot her a disapproving look. "Don't be rude," she whispered, grabbing Y/N's arm and dragging her further into the room. "Come on, we're filming in here."
Y/N sighed dramatically as she was pulled along. "Oh, perfect. My face is going to be plastered all over some weird skincare company's Instagram. Just what I needed today."
Calie grinned. "You look good, so it's fine."
Y/N scoffed, running a hand over her sweater, pretending to brush off invisible dust. "I always look good."
Calie rolled her eyes, clearly used to Y/N's antics. "I'll get the products. Stay here and don't get into trouble."
Y/N nodded absentmindedly, watching her leave. Once she was alone, she mumbled to herself, "I could've gone for a walk with Ceberus. Ate pizza. Gone for a run. Slept in. Worked at home. Anything but this." She glanced around, grimacing at the rows of skincare products on display.
When Calie finally returned, Y/N decided to make things interesting. "You know," she said with a smirk, "I read a story once about a skincare company that accidentally turned someone's face purple. Permanent damage."
Calie's eyes widened in horror before she caught on, shaking her head. "You're the worst. Scarlett will be here any minute."
Y/N rolled her eyes. "Scarlett? You keep talking about her like I'm supposed to care."
